    Hi all,

I have just put together a new music box but it only has; 450MHz cpu and 512mb SDRAM(MAX)
Windows media player is killing it so i was wondering is there anything out there that can help me?
I need something that's light on the system - it doesn't need to have all the flash of windows media like the flashing background or anything.

I dont want a new pc, thanks.

If it's music, Winamp "Classic" (2.xx) is quite nice. Lightweight and nothing too "fancy" like libraries, CD art, and other blah. That is, if you stay under version 3 (I think). Old versions are at http://www.oldversion.com/Winamp.html .

Video, or music and video: definitely VLC Media Player. Again, lightweight but skinnable; not too much fuss but a whole load of detailed options if you're into that. It plays just about any video file/DVD/VCD, too.

    foobar2000 cheesecake! :)

It's got a very simple user interface, absolutely no useless frill like later versions of WMP. Oh, and if you want/need, you CAN make it look good aswell! ;) Tons of plugins and skins and stuff...
