Stage one of the Yamaha MT-10 SP complete:

Interesting to see how Lego have approached this build: rather than building around the engine like the BMW, the frame is built first, into which the engine is then inserted. So far, been really easy to build as the frame easily stands upright.

    More bike progress:

I actually made a mistake, which I noticed when fitting the front wheel (it was rubbing against the frame). Fortunately, it was easy to fix.

I think I'll have this wrapped up today, so next weekend, I can look at putting up some more shelves to display the bikes.

    Yamaha MT-10 SP completed!

Another nice model that improves on the BMW before it. I particularly like that by viewing the bike from an angle, you can see the internal gear change mechanism and the engine working. The gear train is much smoother than the BMW too. However, the gear change mechanism feels a little "off", and while it works smoothly, it doesn't have the same feeling of clicking into place like the BMW. There is an enhanced reality app that goes along with the bike, but I've only given it a brief go. Seems cool enough, but at the end of the day, I'm more interested in the model itself.

Last weekend I put shelves up to display the large scale motorbikes. However, I'm holding off showing them as yesterday, this was on sale!

This will be turning up later today and I'll jump on building it. In the meantime:

Photo's a bit dark, but there's three scenes hidden away: Ahsoka;, an A-Wing launching; and Ackbar. Hoping to finish this before the Ducati turns up.

    Onwards with the Ducati:

Back to building the engine and gearbox first. This time it's more fiddly, but is improved even further from the Yamaha. Everything runs smooth, and the gearbox change is the best so far.

    who's hiding at the back?
And was the Nebulon-b a rebriackable/bricklink part out? or an actual set purchase?

I've got the Falcon, Super Star Destroyer, Tantive IV and Acclamator in the "small" ship series, home one is probably next on my list :)

    Moar Ducati:

So far, this is shaping up to be the best of the bike models so far.

Also, this will be turning up later today since it was on sale:

And I've bought the MOC instructions to turn Optimus and Bumblebee into:

    More work on the Ducati...

    And complete!

This is by far and away the best large scale bike. The gears all run smoothly as does the gearbox, the engine and internal workings are just the right amount of visible. And the outside bodywork looks great.

Anyway, here are all the motorbikes put up on display:

Hopefully the next bike will be a cruiser style model, or at least something different from the current ones.

Anyway, I'm not sure what model I'll do next, but Lego stuff is on hold for a little while as I want to sort out a few things in my house and clear my hobby table. Stay tuned!

Advance warning - LEGO just announced a "The Shire" set for next week. A Hobbiton to go with Rivendell.

You see @IanW , people like to joke that I need to move to a larger house to fit my Lego collection in...but you certainly seem to acquire your fair share! :hehe:

Decided to start the G 500:

Quite fiddly so far. And remember that I'm converting it to right hand drive, so am mirroring the instructions rather than having a heavy think about how to leave everything intact whilst just switching the steering. Means the gear selector levers will be the other way round, but doesn't really matter.

Also, this was on offer for 25% off and had always been on my curiosity list:

I have genuinely started to run out of space for displaying Lego, so this set will be my first foray into hanging something from the ceiling. I've bough some .25mm fish wire and some small hooks. I'm quite keen to get on with this, so may pause the G 500 to smash this out.

In the meantime, I need to finish assembling a Chaos Daemons 40K army to battle a friend next weekend, so Lego progress will be slowed for the next fortnight.

I've just dismantled, and reverse number bagged ~20 sets*, just to clear my "hobby desk" and thin the herd a bit... and im still short on space to display...

*including the Jurassic Park gate, and the concorde (which was an absolute b*tch to take apart)

EDIT: and have just picked up Home One, the Pod Racing diorama, and the Rise of the Domo (at >50% off) to complete my Eternals minfigs.

If anyone lego-ing is still looking for the beastmaster & wolf from the current minifig series, Lidl is worth a try this week.

Very tempted by this, but would also want to then get the "orange" Guardian's ship to go with... and before you know it i'm £250+ down with another line of sets to "collect"...

I squidged in some more progress:

I've managed to get the steering wheel and Hand of God steering reasonably aligned, but it's impossible to get them absolutely bang on owing to the even number of gears.

More progress on the G Wagon:

Been preoccupied recently with spring cleaning and the like, as well as gardening. I would like to finish it off this bank holiday weekend.

    A quick future projects update:

NASA Space Shuttle Discovery with fuel tank, boosters and launch pad

Some nice chap has designed all this to attach the Shuttle to. Will be a nice large scale project to tackle.

    LEGO Redemptor Dreadnought

This'll go nicely with my old skool box dreadnought.

I've added the parts to my Bricklink wanted list, and interestingly, the huge amount of extra parts means I'll be buying from the large scale part providers, dramatically reducing the overall cost.

    Stay tuned...

    Orange box progress:

Continues to be a really fiddly build. A few times I had to take my cotton gloves off as I needed all my dexterity to get some bits in position. It's rare that I have to do that, and this model in particular has probably now had me do that more times than all the other builds I've done to date combined.

@Gunsmith since you're back on the forums, I saw this and thought of you:

The chap who designed it is the designer of the Redemptor Dreadnought I plan to build, and also has a few other Gundam models of the same quality. Here's his page with links to instructions.

I'm not a Gundam fan (though I don't dislike it either!), but I'm tempted to build them.
