I never left yeah I've seen a few, i did enjoy dabbling with lego again during covid but tbh im not a fan of new style technic nor do i have the space for them along with all the mecha kits im building. interesting watch tho.
Look here, chap! Also, jb70, a renowned MOC designer who takes standard Lego designs, improves them, then releases the instructions for free has done an upgrade. If that had been available at the time, I would've gone down that route. I think that if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Land Rover. However, the G500 is shaping up to be a bit more "playable" thanks to stiffer suspension and a more robust gearbox (even though it has less gears).
Ta for the links, I've placed an order for the MOC parts, as I was never happy with the gearing and I think, despite carefully aligning the parts when combining front to back, something didn't quite line up. It's been sat built for a wee old while. It'd be a nice weeks-worth of rebuild, too! I'm hoping one day Lego do an official green Murcielago as a big set as tbh I've never heard of the Sian.
A bit more building: And done! THE GOOD Suspension is really bouncy Sturdy High playability Working door handles Interesting axle locking features THE BAD One of the more fiddly builds I've done Gearbox is simplified compared to the Landy 42110 Hidden engine (though cover can be removed relatively easily) And now for the next project: Picked this up for 20% off earlier this week! And no, I don't know why it's rated "18+".
Where can I get basic 4x2 bricks from without it costing me my knackers and at least one of my legs. My grandsons have got loads of little kits that are useless for building anything else. I had a football bag full when I was a kid of all basic shapes, which I gave to my nephew 30 years ago and he no longer has it. I got a box of basic fake lego from home bargains last week 450 pieces for 5.99. I knew it wouldn't be 450 of the big bracks but when we opened it there were 224 single 1 dot bricks. In the whole box there were only 9 4x2 and 10 3x2. Took it back and have let Home Bargains customer service for their buyer thinking that was even close to acceptable to sell that crap. My grandson never complains and he looked at it and said, "that's a bit rubbish isn't it Grandad", when he saw the amount of those 1 dot bricks. Mrs bought a couple of lego 'classics' tubs and even with her 25 quid off a 50 spend, they are still pretty crap value for money. Literally an inch of lego at the bottom of the tub. All I want is to find somewhere, even second hand, to get 2/300 decent sized bricks. Colour irrelevant. Also looking for a couple of decent baseplates for them to build a house or something. All lego seem to do now is peddle these pointless expensive kits which are no different to an old airfix model. Don't exactly help kids with their imagination. Anyone point me in the right direction ? Ta.
Ebay can probably help out massively. Otherwise, Bricklink's the way to go. Looks like a penny a brick! https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3001#T=S&O={"cond":"N","iconly":0}
Can we have a petition to encourage Lego to switch from stickers to Airfix style wet float graphics please

LEGO™ have announced the launch of their latest SW set - a 9,023-brick giant slice through the Death Star that has 38 minifigs included! (LEGO™ Insiders also get a TIE fighter that fits next to the shuttle, with 3 more minifigs as a GWP) The bad news is that they want £899.99 for it!
Ian's post above reminded me I didn't post the finished Star Wars logo pictures! I hadn't touched Lego for a while, but I have started laying out the pieces for the McLaren P1 last week... I've been keeping an eye on it ever since it was leaked. There is no way I'm buying that until a May 4th 25% off deal, which is £125* saved . *EDIT: £225!!! Mistyped!
Cautionary tale Tl;dr - never buy lego from Amazon warehouse Purchased two sets (Optimus Prime, and Indiana Jones - Temple of the Golden Idol from Amazon warehouse in October 2023 (yes a long time ago), both described as "used - mint". They arrived, in as pristine amazon shipping boxes as i'd seen for a long time (or seen since fwiw), i mean no crushing or obvious damage). I didnt have the space to build/display so put them away for a rainy day - without opening the amazon boxes. Fastforward to this summer, found the Indy set and decided to take it on holiday to build, unpacked to find rougly half the bags missing (no logic as far as I can tell) but at least had the instructions. Contacted amazon, and got a full refund and didnt have to return. Over this weekend pulled out Prime (it had been nagging me that it had been a similar purchase); opened to find it full of flego. totally stripped. No instructions. Nothing relating to the original set. Have just contacted amazon, and getting a full refund but I do have to return. Two sets I'd been looking forward to building, now i have to re-source and pay more than i'd originally paid, not least becuase the Indy set is Retired. Oh well, you live and learn.
Sad to hear that @MadGinga , but at least you got your money back! I'm surprised they'd honour it after that amount of time, but win regardless!!!
I was suprised that there was no argument. I contacted more out of frustration and annoyance that i'd effectively been scammed, not really expecting much considering the time elapsed. For some reason the first one took a lot longer, and had to get a supervisor involved; whereas the second was done and dusted in 10minutes, and that includes the stupidly long delays in the chat agent responding... so, yeah, dont buy Lego from Amazon Warehouse, but Amazon customer service is pretty darn good!
Whelp, after a brief hiatus, it's time to tackle the main model on my to-do list for this year: On a side note, I've also dismantled the Han Solo blaster I built a long time ago and will eventually replace it with this one:
Some progress: I had messed up slightly when ordering the additional parts required for the MOC upgrade (long story short, I bought the wrong parts when comparing the upgrade versus original model!), so have ordered and recieved almost all of them, which was hampering my progress. I have an obsession with lining up axles and gears in an "upwards" orientation: unfortunately this model had some particular features that made me renege on that. Fortunately, these bits will be hidden away so the exterior will still meet my standards! The gearbox is also proving to be quite intricate, but modern Lego is quite clever with its axle connectors and axles with end stops, so that even a poorly assembled one will loosen up after a small amount of operation. Also, this had a few quid off, so: I'm going to hold off on building it as there a rumours a small band of enthusiasts may launch an upgrade pack that turns it into a fully functioning one!
