A few deliveries for the Hoth base defence and Millennium Falcon have turned up.

In other Lego news:

• Lego may or may not be releasing the Star Wars Cloud City Vader vs Luke scene set 75294:
  
• It's rumoured the largest Lego set ever (9000+ pieces) is going to release in November, the 10276 Colosseum.

 

I quite like the cloud city diorama, and will pick it up if I can....
And the more interesting rumours for me are the UCS style Ecto-1 and the Looney Tunes CMF series...

 

I was surprised to see a re-release of Gen Greivous' fighter in a Costco leaflet.

 

Ahh it's so cute

 

8043 is my favourite set.
When I was a child I dreamed to have a tracked excavator and you can't imagine how I was happy when they released it (even if I was not longer a child )

Wouldn't be cheaper to buy a Chiron in order to make it?

 

It's an incredible set. So much achieved in a relatively small model - very clever.

Well, maybe, but only ~1/2 the parts are common. Overall, it's easier to buy it all separately as I won't have half a Chiron lying around afterwards! If I was set up as a seller, it could work out better.

Yeah, look roughly scaffold board dimensions, I'm going to do some myself shortly

Only worth the hassle if you have a table saw though trust me!

 

I like big, ridiculous Lego sets as much as the next guy, but does anyone else think it's starting to get a little out of hand?

The frequency with which they're spamming out mega-sets seems to have really ramped up in the last few years, to such a point that things like this barely register as interesting, let alone news, for me.

 

I love the idea of all these big sets and would love to sit down and build something, but I could never justify buying one to build it once and have it sit on a shelf.
