Saw this and thought of you lot. That's what you get when you build a 7,500-part model using 6,500 parts you already had... in a variety of colours.

The LEGO NASA theme continues with a new Technic set https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/nasa-apollo-lunar-roving-vehicle-lrv-42182
yeah, not sold on this. Lunar Lander? check. Saturn V? check. Ares rocket on stand? check. discovery shuttle? check. this? not sures its for me. probably as its a technic set rather than a "system" set. Having built a number of bigger technic sets as an adult (never had many as a kid, and the only ones i did have were small), i'm just not sure technic is for me. I can appreciate the complexity of the mechanisms, and the satisfaction of them working is great, but the frustration when it requires about 4 pairs of hands to hold the mechanisism in the right orientation as you thread an axle in whilst making sure the gear you've had to drop into a hole doesnt fall out, its just not for me. The Perserverence rover technic set was probably the nail in the coffin, It was just not fun to build
Decided to build this over the long weekend. Start: End: Not a build for those that hate repetition! Surprised that there's actually over 3,000 pieces - didn't feel like that many and I only checked at the end. I also had to adjust the stand slightly so that I could put it on the small shelf it now resides on without falling off.
Sad news today. I was in Manchester for a Star Citizen event The LEGO store had an Artemis I had £100 of LEGO Insider points just sitting there It's double points week I leave the inevitable conclusion to the advanced student.
Been a bit quiet for me Lego wise as I've been catching up on my 40K backlog. But a few things of note: 1) 42170 Kawasaki Ninja H2R This fell to >20% off, so I decided to pick it up. Even got a little shelf to put up to add it to the same scale collection. I'm hoping that Nemooz, a MOC designer on Rebrickable who likes to do motorbike related upgrades, does something before I get around to building it. 2) Chestburster After all this time I finally have all the parts needed, excepting an extremely rare and expensive dark red satellite dish that represents pooling blood. No matter, it wouldn't fit nicely on a shelf with this anyway. 3) 10338 Bumblebee Here's the next Transformer! I haven't even got around to Optimus yet. 4) 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr™ Definitely picking this up to go with my Sauron. Not a Lord of the Rings fan, but I can appreciate its influence and I do love building big models.
I've decided not to get the Icons Lamborghini Countach 5000. I watched a few YouTube videos as there was something just not sitting right for me and I've eventually worked out the proportions of the front and and wheel arches are off in relation to the real thing. I realise I'm being picky as you can't make it exact with Lego, but it's enough to annoy me. Also, it's not red, with gold wheels.
Began my Artemis build yesterday. I found the early stages of launchpad construction rather fragile, so added a 48x48 baseplate (LEGO p/n 10701) to stabilise everything.
Have any of you seen Bricklink Studio? For those that haven't build Lego on your PC like this (though this person exports it to Blender to animate I believe)
Just picked up these bad boys from Asda... couldnt resist at those prices Aston Martin Safety Car & AMR23 - £35 (£10 off) ‘Up’ House - £22 (£23.99 off, in-store only)
As I said in the purchases thread the other day, the D&D Castle set is 21% off at Argos right now. And the latest set of minifigs is also D&D classes (different to the ones in the castle set!)
My wife bought me a minifigure and it turned out to be Strahd. I was delighted. Apparently there's a barcode scanner app/list which will simply tell you which ones are in them, so you don't have to endlessly duplicate to get them all.
