Had a slight issue with one of my 45 degree fittings dribbling. Bit of a wiggle and tightning and its fine though :) now to leak test while I have dinner :)

    Oooohhh!!!

Awesome news.... what you're doing that is!!!! I'm just waiting for some money to clear and I am then taking a dive in.

It feels like it is taking for ever though.... :(

Still... can't wait to see what you get out of that chip.

Alas, it looks like 4.7GHz is the max on this chip :( Tried for 4.8 and above ( to make sure it wasn't a frequency hole) and I was upto 1.5v with it only just stable at 4.8... I never get good clocking chips :(

Hmmmm just rand the CPCbenchmark. No OC 2018 points, @ 4.6GHz 2423 points. Does this seem a little low?

Edit, ran is a second time at 4.6GHz and got 2532 points.

I don't like CPCbenchmark. I'm not convinced it isn't a useless metric. I always run it anyway, but end up going off the scores on other things like sisoft scores, 3dmark, Geekbench and Cinebench.

I guess nowadays Geekbench is a good one because of the monster thread that it created recently.

But 4.6ghz is disappointing eh? :waah: How much heat is it pumping out compared to your Core2Quad?

Would Sir now wish to retrieve the thrown gauntlet?

Seriously though Pete throwing 1.5V through one of Intel's new super energy efficient processors :worried:

My 2600K doesn't need anywhere near that even when I benched it at the 3000+ overall score...

Further to my previous post, my 2600K runs a stable bomb proof 4.6GHz on just 1.32V :thumb:

What your showing is just, for lack of a better word disappointing at best with that CPU :sigh:

I'm just glad I've ducked out on this occasion as it would appear all the reviews of both the 3570K and 3770K fail to give accurate information to the temps they kick out at high overclocks; my 2600K doesn't even touch 70 °C on all 4 cores at full load on air and that's after 12 hours continuous...

I only pushed 1.5v for a boot to see if it helped. This was only 2 hours playing with no research, so when I'm back on Sunday I'll have a much longer play and see if I can coax more out of it :) These are seriously hot chips though. I widh you could just disable the iGPU... I may try turning its clocks right down...

They'll be up on Sunday when I get back from Cornwall, damn real life commitments!!!

And I did some, just there's not a lot of info about currently. Never fear, its OC'ing research or revision, so we know what direction I'll go in...

About 70's under full load at 4.6GHz, but then I do have to use more volts than most people...
