damn eco-morons.... they really want to make an impact, getting the one group of guys running cars at top speed for tv to stop will have no effect... if they had half a brain, they'd target the organized race circuits who have little to no emissions standards for their vehicles

when will middle england take its head out of its arse and realise were not all mindless zombies who think everything we see on tv is an example of how we should act? top gears one of the best british made shows on the bbc and alot better than 5th gear.
who would watch a show that promotes "sensible driving in sensible vehicles" anyway? the whole point of topgear is to watch people arsing around in cars on a test track thinking

Hmm, funny that, I would have thought the public interest was to keep Top Gear. He should do some research before saying things like that.

Top Gear is one of the few programs actually worth watching on TV.

Amen to that. It's usually the highlight of my evening when it's on, at very least.

If they take Top Gear then i'll find them. Every single one.

top gear is a class program... especially their love of caravans :naughty:

i bet the people that want the program off the air drive the most "friendly" car around and dont get out of 3rd gear..

Top Gear is indeed a good programme but I can't agree with Clarkson practically encouraging uncontrollable speeds on public roads, rural or not. I cycle a lot in the country and the last thing I want is some 45yo Clarkson-fed fool ramming his jag up my bottom at 70mph+ because he saw it on tv. Yes, the car might have huge 'anchors'. Yes, it might improve your time at lap-days. But if the driver can't drive, it's just an accident waiting to happen. I personally think some kind of advanced driving and attitude analysis should be compulsory to drive cars over a certain performance level, but I guess that's a separate question...

but people aren't stupid. Generally, they have enough sense to realise that driving like Clarkson on public roads is a bad idea.

Top Gear is great entertainment, and if I'm not mistaken, most of Clarkson's hooning around is done on an airfield or race track, well away from other road users. I think they generally drive respectfully if ever a feature is filmed on public roads (the exception being the odd cross-continental supercar drive)

Then lets just ban F1, Touring cars, IRL etc, they are just all promoting fast driving.
Whilst we are at it lets kill eastenders as it promotes chavness, and maybe we can get rid of 24 (might make me want to conspire to take down the government, with a nuclear bomb).
See my point, its entertainment, that's all, and as far as Top Gear goes its damned good entertainment.

    rofle, I agree to that!

Seriously though, wtf?! How do such a bunch of morons even make it as far as the news? This is pathetic to say the least.

Why don't we just ban life altogether and spend all day in padded rooms being fed only good healthy nutrients through a drip - that way we can be safe and enjoy our life :eyebrow:

    2 things...:

    1. What is a chav ??

    2. This is just plain dumb... What's up with those sad idiots like hippies, whats wrong with driving fast on a track. I'll bet people would drive just as fast and insane if they remove Top gear, as the do now... :worried:

Totally agree with you there mate, as I cycle everyday was recently rammed into a parked car to (sound worse than it was) by a person in a big fast car (was a jag, BMW or Merc) but,

I agree with what yoda said too. As long as it is watched with an open attitude I cant see the problem. Yeah the people on top gear do daft things, but so do the people on Jackass. Its all down to the people watching if and if they are stupid enough to copy. But this is also true for so many other things (see the shootings in that school in america where the lad played to much of a certain PS2 game).

They should ban selling 'fast and furious' because:

    It encourages dangerous driving

It encouraes chavs in their persuit of a 'pimped up'..... corsa

    It's a really c**p film

Well, at least 2 of those points are valid reasons ;)

    That's a little optimistic, don't you think?

and it's that exception I take exception to.
