Let's have a blanket ban on games and TV. Thank you very much.

Why does it have to be a person in a "big fast car" that crashes in to you? I think you'll find that the people driving the more expensive cars will be safer drivers in most cases than the children who go and steal cars and the people without a licence or insurance. It doesn't have to be big and fast in order to be dangerous, anyone could go and spend £50 on a heap of junk and cause just as much damage.

The same thing applies to your suggested limitation for drivers who want to drive high performance cars. Why do people have to be limited just for high performance cars when someone could do just as much damage with the previously mentioned £50 heap of car? If you're an accident waiting to happen I think it will happen no matter what you drive.

Also, I wouldn't say that their cross continental supercar drives were disrespectful either, if he was a danger to other people then fair enough, but I couldn't see any danger. After all, it's not like he was driving like they would on a track.

Bearing in mind that the French police are notoriously harsh on speeding motorists and his speed wasn't given, who is to say that he was driving dangerously? What if he was 5mph over the limit on an empty motorway?

Speed doesn't kill. Inappropriate use of speed kills.

Driving a modern high-performance vehicle at 80mph on a motorway at 2am in the dry with no other cars for 1/2 a mile is speeding. It is not inappropriate use of speed.

Driving a mkI Fiesta at 25mph outside a school in the pouring rain at 3pm is not speeding. It is inappropriate use of speed.

maybe they should restrict all car engine to 70mph and have a device which automatically gives you fines for speeding..

That is both stupid and dangerous.

What if you need to accelerate away from an emergency situation whilst on a motorway? (swerving truck/car with a blowout)?

I also cycle a lot, but you are complaining about 'speeding' on Trans-Continental journeys. If you are stupid enough to be riding on a motorway (and I assume you are to make a complaint) then it isn't going to matter if a respectable old lady driving a Nissan Micra at the legal side of 70mph hits you or 'Clarkson' doing whatever speed you think he was doing in a DB9. You are dead either way.
