I saw the reptiles thread the other day and tbh thought it was a little unfair that the reptile owners had somewhere to show off but those with less exotic pets didn't. So I thought I'd start one. I propose this thread be for anyone who wants to show off the little balls of fluff in their lives (or those with feathers, scales or many legs) So here are my lads, Ralph and Shitty. Me and the Mrs (mainly the mrs) adopted them last year and i must say i can heartily recomend rats as a pet. Anyway, here they are: This is ralph in his tube And this is Shitty (so named because he pooped on me the first time i held him) As far as i know Shitty is a bit on the large size for a rat. He's much bigger than Ralph anyway. This is him next to a DVD case for comparison And this is their house Lets see those pets
I can play. We have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 parakeets, a cockateil and a Morning dove in addition to the reptiles. john
Let's begin! Norwegian Forest Cat - name EV 8 yr old blind diabetic Black Lab - that is not camera flash that's inoperable cataracts (insulin at 5PM daily) and a scruffy Yorkshire Terrier(hasn't had spring grooming yet). The Lab is Lady Grand - cost me $1K to save her , lost her brother - Canine Parvovirus. The Yorkie is Simon - usually called Scruff Muffin. 12 yr. old miniature Dachshund Brown and Black named Snickers. Well was brown and black now black and grey. I can relate. Purebred Burmese cat named Jar Jar - I call him skid mark More to come. It's 90F in Denver today. They ain't movin around much. john
Next to the 2 bearded dragons that I have, our family has 1 cat (called Sjors - 14 years old atm). We used to have 2 (we always had 2) but one ran away (they are housecats) and never came back he was called Sjimmie (Sjors & Sjimmie from a dutch comic book). Anyway here's Sjors with one of our neighbours cats (left one is ours) the neighbours one always comes to our house for some snacks And here's Sjors sleeping on my parents bed: We had 2 cats before we had Sjors & Sjimmie, one was 19 years old and the other only 4 or so (he died because of kidney failure): This is the young one, really really old picture:
I think that last picture would be a good candidate for cuteoverload.com, not that I'd ever visit a site like that, grrrr, beer, steak, wimmins
Lucitta, AKA "the lawn torpedo", 6yo Dachshund, South African SPCA Marie, AKA "the hairdresser", 10yo mackerel tabby Short Hair, Cuba via Miami Pablo, AKA "the furry beatnik", 13yo seal point Burmese, Cuba via Miami
Only pet I have ever had was a Springer Spaniel called Ben. He was put down a couple of years ago because of severe archritis. I loved him to bits, but he was suffering too much so the hard decision was made. He wasn't happy unless he was bounding throgh fields and hopping fences like a racehorse First thing I'll do after I graduate and have more time on my hands is get another dog. Maybe a lab or another spaniel
I have one cat at my parents house. He is about 15 years old now. And I have a tiny spider on my desk at work. It's about 3mm long. I fed him a maggot (About 3 times as big as the spider) today. He was a bit skeptical at first, but he seemed to enjoy it when he started eating. Going to make him a proper cage and some small plants to hide in tomorrow.
I don't have a decent picture of my three idiot labs, but.. Charlie, 12, is cantankerous, deaf (Well, selectively - He can still hear the biscuit jar), and has terrible ear troubles in general. Despite mum being the one most often feeding him and walking him, he's very rarely affectionate towards her - god knows why. Very amusing old sod, I picked him based on his desire to undo my shoelaces when we first saw him. Woody, 9, isn't mentally switched on, or so it seems. He tries to guard the house, but more often than not ends up barking either long after the person has entered the house, or as they leave. Bit weird he is. Also likes to get up at four in the morning to go outside and eat poop. Not sure what's going on in his head, but it ain't right. Buster, 3, is obsessed with balls. He actively seeks them out when he's at parks and whatnot, and it's not unusual to go out with one ball and come home with another one, or an entirely different one. He also tries to hold your hand with his mouth - People think he's biting, but hey.
A couple of snaps of the cat we adopted last year (and the other half). He came to us as Frisky but at 13 years of age and deaf we figured he looked regal and wouldn't care what we called him. He's now known as Chairman Meow.
One of our new baby chickens Our older chicken And I haven't taken/uploaded any of our 2 cats or third chicken!
Easy chicken marsala recipe 1 Chicken marsala is a great Italian dish. This simple chicken marsala recipe makes serving a pleasure. Full of flavor and easy to prepare. Ingredients: 60g (2 oz) butter 1.25kg (2 ½ lb) chicken pieces flour salt, pepper 2 onions 1 tablespoon grated green ginger 2 cups water 2 chicken stock cubes ¼ cup marsala ¼ cup cream 2 tablespoons chopped parsley Method: Lighly coat the chicken pieces in flour seasoned with salt and pepper. Melt the butter in a hot pan. Lightly brown the chicken pieces then remove them from the pan. They will cook in the Marsala sauce! Add peeled and finely chopped onions and ginger to the pan and sauté them over medium heat until the onions are transparent. Add water, crumbled stock cubes and Marsala wine. Bring the sauce to the boil; reduce the heat; return the chicken pieces to the pan, cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30-45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Remove the chicken from the pan, bring the sauce to the boil, stirring until it has reduced slightly. Reduce the heat, stir in the cream and parsley and pour over the chicken. Serve with your favorite side dishes - from pasta, bread to potato with vegetables or salad. Serves 4.
lol I like how a thread about showing off your pets suddenly turns into how to cook them, at least it was on what to do with the chickens and not any of the other pets
Pedigree black lab, Dylan, 5 years old now I think although he would have been about a year here (not that he has grown at all). He's a right little **** but love him to bits!
I hope that not saw dust. Saw dust causes all kinda problems with rats it causes lung problems use a dust free cat litter i used to use eco cat litter plus you don't have to change it as often http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/er...-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=eco+cat+litter
