Well, me and my mother moved about 6 weeks ago, and the house we now live in has a driveway at the front, which is connected to the neighbours driveway (side by side) This morning I get in my car to go to work, and my mothers car was parked behind me, my neighbour comes out the house to put some rubbish in her bin, looks at me in the car and gestures for me to wind down the window. So I do. She says - "Don't even think about it.... this is OUR driveway." pointing to her side of the drive. How petty and pathetic is that? My car would have only been about a foot over "On HER side" to get round my mum's car. Ohh, I can't wait till I see her on *our* side like I have before, I'll give her a mouthful just for spite. At least they're trying to move out!
Normally the words "shut up" come to mind and I would just drive off. I don't try to bother wasting time with idiotic people
Friendly neighbours then! I vote for ordering a skip in her name, the bill will go through her letterbox
lol how big the garden!? i remember seening someone pull up to a drivway too fast in winter and skid'd into someones wall lol
bah, just do it. as long as you arent causing loud noise and dont damage the drive etc on here side. she can whistle for me. surely they can understand that you arent going to park your car there, just going to use her space to get out? fudge it, just do it. at the end of the day its a petty thing to try and stop you. she will not try anymore if you dont take any notice.
Personally, next time this is an issue, I would go round to their house, nice as pie and say "Hi, would it be possible if I could temporarily use your drive to manouvre my car out as it would be very inconvenient for us to have to move my mothers car out first? Obviously should you ever need to use our drive for anything, you're more than welcome to ask." Then, if the answer is no, in the meantime park your cars RIGHT UP against the invisible line until you've put up a fence.
Put up a fence. Iif it's just some metal spikes and tape, all the better to piss them off. They'll soon ask you to take it down when people start viewing their house and question driveway access. We have a corner driveway shared by two houses, when we moved in the neighbours came over saying (threatening) that if we parked on their side of the driveway they couldnt be responsible for what happened to my car (wasnt even my car I was just borrowing it to move my stuff in) I was more than happy to inform them that if they wished to split the (3m wide) drive way in half and claim one side as theirs, I could still get my bike down it but they'd have to buy a smaller car. No problems after that about driveways... our garden parties is still an on going problem for them tho
Don't worry, from now on it will be. I always parked the car hugging the house until now, no more. RIGHT ON THE LINE WITH IT.
[Psychic] I forsee many dents in your future.... [/Psychic] Unless you have dent resistant side panels like with Saturn cars.
Sound really unreasonable, I'd take knas suggestion though rather than just telling her where to go... My next door neighbour *wrote off* a Peugeot 306 by crashing it into her own house after pulling onto the drive too quickly :duh. The damage wasn't major on first glance but the roof panel was rippled..chassis was twisted. I heard the bang when she did it, daft mare...then went outside in time to see her struggling to get out of the car (the chassis twist meant the drivers side door wouldn't open properly so she had to climb out the window).
Sounds like your neighbours are assholes. Lucky for me my neighbours are pretty cool I often use their driveways to turn the car around.
I agree 100%.. Sometimes the best way to annoy people like that is to be exceedingly nice as they just don't know how to handle it. I've done that with my x-wife when I want to get under her skin and it works better than you can ever imagine.
Your all missing the point, she has stated that you cant use her drive, so dont. simple answer is this. park your car directly in the middle of her lawn late at night. When she asks in the morning why your car is on her lawn replie ****me I didnt shi* in the wrong garden as well last night, did I? how much did i drink? Then wreck as much lawn as possible revesing out. She may or may not take that with good humor
hmm. like most say, just park right on the line, or better still, PAINT a line *Then do as cheapskate said. `P2D
Tell us where she lives and we'll all come use her driveway..... (remembering not to wave at you as we leave....)
