I have just been talking to my supervisor about my project for next year. I'm going to be working with a research group on developing a new manufacturing process for semiconductor devices (diodes and transistors, basically). The aim is to create a bipolar transistor capable of twice the speed of present bipolar models. Cool, huh?
sweet... congrats man... sounds like exciting stuff. Does this conflict or compliment your moving situation?
M8, that would be far too much for me! Sounds pretty complicated! Nice one though, and good luck with it.
this sounds really cool. no idea what it all means but if it means we get faster microwaves or computers then i'm all for it
i think it means there is reasearch going on to make your wizy shiny things with bloo led's even wizzier, even shinyer & even faster
I'm still trying to overclock my microwave, its just too damn slow! I tried adding more RAM, but didn't make much difference so i'm trying to find the jumper that will allow me to increase the FSB.
Well...hate to disappoint you guys, but computers use FETs, not bipolar transistors. However, being on the cutting-edge as an undergraduate is kind of exciting.
i dunno my microwave was only £50 from currys & makes short work of chips & pizza (well it is a 850watt ) so i dont think i will try & overclock it, not worth the potential explosion /me goes running off to overclcok his mothers washer crank up the spin cycle, see if i can get it to dance without removing the conrete ballast in the machine (plus it interferes with my hifi setup & that annoys the hell out of me)
well, I thought so that it wouldn't be the ones used in procs... even if it was it'd prolly take some years before implemented right? Congrats isaac, that's really cool, you invented it or something? You have asked for a wage raise right? haven't you???
You know those square white blocks you get on PSU's some times? Stick one on the power supply of your washing machine and one on the power supply on your stereo, sorted the same problem my bruvdah had in his house!!!
super silicon wow, this outta take the computer science world up a bit, nice fast PCs, maybe ill be able to run stargate without it getting out of synch everytime a staff weapon is fired just rememebr us for the trials though I fyou decide to make any really fast chip out of it
