You do realise you can plane perspex, yes?

Excellent edge and helps with straightening cuts. Very quick and easy.

hahaha great technique for the inserts, back when i was at a machine shop that was always my least favorite thing to do, even with the press we had specifically for that.

Yes.... UPDATE.. I don't believe it either..;)
After a while I made some improvements but didn't want to show you bits, wanted to show you that I actually did sth in the last few weeks. So I drilled holes in panels and bought more screws. It was really hard, because holes must be drilled very precisely. 1mm on any side would make fixing panel impossible... I think you guys know what I mean... So I had to measure inserts in square rods and draw them on panels.. with my shaking hands it was really annoying :)

But first - drive cage.. like I mentioned before I used aluminium profiles to build cage. Used small screws to do that. Of course it looks pretty ugly, but it will be covered with chrome film, which I also already bought. Here's cage:

I'm running out of screws so it is not folded properly yet... Both sides have only one screw:)

I have also bought rest of parts for watercooling - T line thing, fillport and of course BLOODY RED coolant :cheese:

    AAAGGRRRR:)

I have to show you cube itself now..:)

    There you go:)

Here you can see I used small red acrylic bits as .. hmm.. washers.. why? because bolts are long enough to fix main panel AND red one on top of it as a decoration.. you know.. so had to use those for now, uuntil I prepare my front panels..

Like I said, precision is important.. here you can see how the panels are folded together..

This is bottom "foot" for radiator:

    ...and radiator itself..

Here's drive cage nside this sweet cube:)

...and with mobo tray:) (still unfinished)

I hope you like it... Still a lot to be done.. but I passed another semester on my CISCO course, so now will work more on this baby:)

    STAY TUNED !!!

my only concern is space, but with the planning you put into it, i dont see it as an issue.

    Thanks guys!

I do not worry about space - as you saw I planned this for almost a year.. Considered different setups, but the last one is fine to me. It may look like pretty tight, but every part has its own place.
It is hard to see it now, but when I take off those white tapes from panels it will be soo beautiful.. you'll see... That acrylic looks so amazing...

I found this mod about a week ago, and like it! I had been planning to build a 300x 300 x 300 cube with aluminum tubes and a rad on top for quite a while, but I could not find an arrangement which took most advantage of small space, cooling, and a nice view at the same time. Instead, I am now planning a small tower.

However, your use of panels instead of a main chassis really allows you to fit more into the cube! You put a lot of planning and precision into this build, I'll be looking forward to updates!:thumb:

Ordered some new plexi today - red transparent, 3mm. Huge, 100x60cm, I'll be able to cut 6 panels, 30x30cm. I'll cut 4 for front back and both side panels. Use one for mobo tray - changed my mind again.. I dont want to use that light edges.. they just too bright, too pink-red. I need red-red plexi:)

In the meanwhile.. package just came in !!! WOOHOO!!! :D

    My new E8400...

and those panels - AKASA fan controller and Silverstone FP32.

Sorry for the photo quality, my camera is dead, so used cell phone.

It’s not hard to imagine what I’m gonna do with those panels. AKASA will be ripped out from its cover and I’m gonna pull those knobs to my controller in the right upper corner of my cube. The main pcb will be hidden in a silver box.. hopefully.. at the bottom level. Same the Silverstone I/O panel - will be ripped out and I will place all sockets on the right side of my cube - left upper corner of right panel.. MAYBE wil put it somewhere on front, but not sure.. right side would be more comfortable… we’ll see…
Now I’m waiting for my red acrylic plexi that should be here today… the one I was looking for.. no glowing edges, no pink.. just real red…

    Anyway...
This control panel is nice, really nicely built, shiny black paint, small and tasty:)

Look how small is the main pcb - it will be SOOO easy to take cover off and just install it on my front panel.. I dont even have to build a cover for it...

Silverstone I/O panel isn't such a beauty like akasa... but still nice and perfect for my cube.

Look at the back of that panel - all stuff is nicely packed in that white cover! That means I can use it without any box, just attach it to right panel of my cube and that would be it! So easy.. that's great, I'm happy:D

A lot of cables though... :eyebrow:

Feet, if you already noticed - are the same as Sugo has! I bought it at KustomPCs.
