How did I miss this build? If you don't mind, I'll park my surveillance gear right here.

    Thanks guys!

    UPDATE TIME!!!

Yep, after having lots of fun on Campus Party I got back to my current build.
I faced the worst part of my mod - tapping holes - and I have to say, I defeated my weakness! ;) Yep, I am ok, I drilled and tapped 6 holes for rear panel - all turned great, no issues, I used all your tips you gave me before and I'm happy to say that it all turned good. There are still a lot of holes to tap in front of me, front and side panels (18 holes to go:)), but it looks like if I'm going to go with this technic I used today, all will be fine.
No more words, please take a look on photos I made today (all with my new Panasonic GF-1 and 20mm 1/7 lens..sweeeet camera:D)

I'm pretty sure I haven't showed you guys this part - nicely cut PSU hole! :)
    So here it is...

Next will be drilling and tapping rest of the holes for panels:)

    Stay tuned !!!

Use plenty of lube when tappin those holes, things might break if you don't.

Awwright you've made some nice pic's, but in my opinion worklog photo's should be totally crisp so you can see all the details the modder has made.
Nice work tough! I really like the shape of the case.

Have to say I'm extremely impressed with the work so far. The routed edges look amazing, can't wait to see the more than taster pics. Camera work is great, bokey in a few of them is superb.

Well I'm not trying to be unkind, but there is a lot of "fuzzyness" in the pictures which make them look really good, but also less "informative" if you get my point.
Its hard to explain for me, please don't think I'm bashing the pictures, just trying to give my opinion..

Guys, thank you all for kind words! At least I made some progress:) it's hard for me to find some time to work on my build, that is why updates come up in so long intervals:)

Thanks my friend! I also thought they are enough in focus to show what I wanted to show.

I was thinking about your comment - maybe you don't like shallow DOF on those photos? Low aperture makes that lots of things are out of focus. I can raise it a bit and then whole thing will be sharp, maybe that's what you meant? I'm not an expert in photography, still learning, especially with new camera:blush: I don't use any additional light sources like some people, don't have a "tent" and other stuff. All I do is I put it on a table and shoot;) I'm planning to create some kind of tent or sth to make nice photos but don't want to spend hundreds of pounds on it. I need to plan and make it soon, cause I want to make nice photos when I finish my Tower...

After seeing the 'Cube' up close in Madrid, it has given me a real feel of how small this build actually is.

Watching you assemble 'Cube' , it was like one of those 3D jigsaws to put together such was the detail.

This is even smaller and will be epic when complete

Keep up the great work mate :thumb:

ps. i thought you had a lighting tent for photography ? - A big grey one from Madrid !!!!

    Hey Mark!

Yeah, grey tent should be alright I guess:)

Thanks for kind words mate - next year when I'm going to take nanoTower with me on Campus Party, I will take it hopefuly in one piece, it should be ok to take it with my on the plane. All I would need to do is drain the coolant for flights.. it would be a bit more than allowed 100ml:) That would save me all the time for assembling it, as it took around 4 hours for Cube:) You saw it - I was all sweat after I finished it:)

Well I'm really no expert as well! The aperture thing you mentioned is exactly what I was thinking about.
But hey, we are making small things big here, your pictures are still way better than average here, so no worries mate!

So is everyone quickly building tiny PCs so they can take them on the plane next year? Is it going to be Mini Mod of the Year? :D

Haha:) Yep, Mini Mod of the Year would be nice:) I'm planning to take it for next year's Campus Party, but what I'm going to do is actually take it with my on the plane, as you said. Base footprint will be around 22cm so it should be fine:)
