I think that was aimed at my design.. I'll do that when I get time, and see how it is. it might not fit.

yes was meant for Razork7. It was just a idea when looking at your design. I see a real potential winner in your design, but the lack of a 5 1/4 bay can be a potential issue for mass production. ;)

I will post a render later some time of the optical drive location. they are side-mounted at the right side panel. there will only be 2 though.

I'm currently adapting my design to allow for a bit more adaptability, and to allow you to squeeze an SR-2 in there if you so wish ;)
I think this shows where I'm heading:

The idea is that the motherboard tray can be in two different places, position 1, which is shown and allows for hardware to be configured in the way shown (going to make another psu mount so it can be held in its current position). But then you can change the triple rad mount for the mobo tray, flatten the power supply and change the rads in the bottom for a dual 140mm rad, the mobo tray can be put in the right or left side (side panels will also be interchangeable as they side down from the top rather than the back. With the psu flat on the bottom you can get the SR-2 in, now if you will excuse me I have work to do! :D

Hi people just thought I would show a little update to the radiator idea

The rads are still in a V configuration but im sure you lot will be confindent that they will work now :D
allthough somebody posted a link to some exhaust fans that shift 291 CFM! im sure 2 of those would be ok nfor my original idea ???

An acrylic logo - the eyes will be power and HDD lights

Im hoping to post a finished sketchup model before the 31st or atleast one that shows it could be viable (lazer cut and alu bending)

    :thumb:

oh... I came up with a name

    V series meaning this would be a V6 (2x320's) then V8 and V4

Or for just on its own V COOL

been fighting with it most of the today! lol

the width will make cable tidying a breeze and even water tubing if I do it right!

    Cheers

Right, here is my initial design.

Exterior of the case is going to be largely minimalistic.

3 5.25 inch bays allows for 2xDVD drive and a fan controller, or a mix to allow drive bay res.
Moving HDD's to top allows more space at the bottom for pump/res configuration.
While a comparatively low HDD count compared to a lot of cases, my goal was to look at the water cooling hobbyist with a light interest in it. I don't think the majority of users would need more drives than that.

Before I go getting concrete on design of the exterior, can you see any issues with interior layout? Personally I prefer the layout with only the front/rear rad, with no side rad at the bottom, as this allows for a more compact machine, both height and width, but do you think the extra cooling is really required? Let's face it, most people are not running tri-sli.

Made some changes to the MoBo Tray and added some 5.25 Bay covers to the front. Decided to do away with the front mounted Radiators.

    Still pending:
    5.25 Bay frames
    3.5 HDD Mounting frames
    SSD Mounting frames
Pump, Reservoir and Radiator mounting locations (Top and Bottom)
Need to revise the size of the dividers and the MoBo tray; so that the 5.25 cages will fit at the front... Nothing serious... just a matter of pulling those three parts towards the rear a bit; and it's all material that would be empty space for now anyway.

Hey thanks Razer... Yours is quite amazing as well....

Made some adjustments and tweaked it a bit...

Adjusted the divider panles and reduced the number of 5.25 Bays to 8... Now I have space at the top and bottom for Reservoirs, Pumps, etc...

Here you can see where I plan on going with the MoBo Tray...

That's it for now... Gotta go to sleep.

    Case Design by Madboy

Hi guys I am new here to Bit-tech forum, but have been a long time veiwer of the website. I have built and designed many PCs in the past (never a case though lol). So here is my current design

    I call it the Rapture

here are some of the features the case incorporates

    - 3 isolated cooling zones
    - spaces for 1 triple rad in the bottom compartment
    - space for 1 triple rad in the front (with 6 fans) or 2 triple rads (with only 3 fans)
    - space for quad rad in the top (including the monsta quad rad)
    - space for a inovatek passive radiatior (with indepent cooling zone)
    - capacity for 3*5.25 inch drives
    - 8*3.25 inch hard drives
    - mounts and spaces for 3 pumps (lianing DC12)
    - mounts for 2 reserviors)
    - removal motherboard tray
    - sloped front and top for innovative looks and syle.
    - if the bottom rad is swapped for double rad, then space for dual PSU
    - mounting points for mcubed Tbalancer
    - custom designed cable cover for the motherboard

I will add the pictures of the case with components added in to show how the design can be adapted to include all the above

The dimensions are similar to a Silverstone TJ07 case (without the sloped top and front)

    Edit-

I have been working on the pictures of the internals with the different components (still needs some more work with extra mesh and vents to be added)

So here are a few teaser shots of what i have done so far

    Welcome to the forums!

That's a very interesting design - don't think we have many like it yet. So the drives are mounted in the side? Looking forward to seeing some components in there!:D

This is just one possible layout...

This would have the two top 120x4 rads sucking air in from the sides and exhausting up to the top... I would have to close the top divider off (eliminate the pattern of holes on it) and open up a grill on the top side of the outer frame.... There would be a plate in between the two rads splitting the cavity in two so the hot air from the rads gets redirected upwards.

You could turn the two rads onto their side and have them suck air from the top and exhaust at the sides with minimal effort as well....

The cavity at the bottom (with PSU) could accommodate two 120x3 with the PSU in place and have them suck air from the side or bottom and exhaust to the sides or down depending on layout. You could also take out the 120x3 rads and place a 200mm rad on the floor.

I still have to figure out reservoir/pump, hdd cages, etc and decide on placement for all those things, but I'm going along nicely.

And, Yes... everything is modeled in SKU... Exported as .3ds and imported into Cinema4D for rendering.
