Love the 2nd (vertical one Silver) and as for you Tim S! You da man. I'm sad for a summers end, but those are awesome shots! Here are few I shot heading back from Manhattan... Awesome! Love it! Not a fan of this single colour in a black and white thing. Was she really getting married in a red mini dress? That's refreshing Did you profifle that image? That red is VERY red on my monitor. This screen has a almost 100% Adobe 1998 gamut and that red is screaming! FF should honour a colour profile, so I suspect it has none. [EDIT] Yep.. just checked.. sRGB profile. Maybe it's just the contrast between the uber redness and the black and white.
It wasn't her that got married. I didn't touch up on the red but did increase contrast a bit. I'll need to compare it to the original file to see how red it really is. But in my memory, it was bloody red as in bloody sexy.
Absolutely Love the first one Lenny. I clicked to favorite it... oh wait not Flickr! Coney Island's Silhouette by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr NYC skyline before Irene by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr Triumph by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr
Thanks One of my greatest crimes as a photographer is never using flickr. I probably should... Love the picture of the NYC skyline - reminds me of my honeymoon when we stayed in a hotel in Queens and could see Manhattan from our room; breathtaking.
Love #1 and #3 CMW. Hey, I'm headed to NYC around the 5th of this month! Any good places to shoot? Can't guarantee I'll have time, because mum and sis will be there, but I'd love something local/non-touristy.
That's pretty well-controlled flare. Also, yummy colors. Tim, I just love how you can make a random bit of vegetation frame-worthy. What I wouldn't do for an eye like that. Anyway, until I can get awesome have MOAR planes! A couple of friends had asked for some portrait shots and were willing to put up with me faffing with lights. Rachel 2 by whisperwolf, on Flickr Rachel and Derek by whisperwolf, on Flickr

The teeth look a bit too yellow in the second shot and really odd in the first. That aside, I really like the light/background in the first shot. Really like this one.
Haha thanks, I find that trying to anthropomorphise can help a little (relating the things you see to everyday objects or activities) - I felt this looked like a brush-stroke through the heather. My shooting partners were all looking down the valley as the light was playing across the landscape on this morning. I saw this as I too was thinking about an image down the valley, but couldn't get it to harmonize with the view beyond, even though there was some wonderful mist in the valley - I find that foreground interest is only useful when it somehow relates to the view (trying to get away from lone rock syndrome) - and felt that there was enough complementary structure in the surrounding vegetation for it to just work as an inner landscape. With that said, I'm not sure if it could do with being cooled down though - at least around the grasses - as it does look a little yellow. Mind you, that's how the transparency looks - maybe what's required is a selective cooling filter to just cool down the vegetation and make the grasses pop a little more. I was thinking something along the lines of this: third (and final) attempt...
Love the photos Silver! The last one is my favorite. How early was that? Whisperwolf, good job with the lighting on the second one. A Broken Hill's Silhouette by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr Texas Longhorn by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr Mountain Lion by Neo - nimajus, on Flickr
