D700 and 300 f2.8 IF ED AI wide open. I can confirm that both photos despite being manual focus are nice and sharp..ahem.

As always, the flow of fantastic photos fills this thread. Now I'm about finished renovating my garden I might get some time out and about with my camera!

Particularly like fall and basin, Wolfie. Some great shapes in that stone in the basin.

Thanks, The Basin was quite cool, kinda wish I'd taken my tripod along to get them a bit sharper with the flowing water but had to handhold and brace instead.

The EXIF is on Flickr. Shot 2 was indeed wide open.

I have lots of shot from Miramar but the sun was being a real dick, so they're all rubbish.

If I can work any of the flightline shots to look acceptable, I'll have them up soon-ish.

Thanks, and yes wide open on my new toy, a Sigma AF 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM, I'm really liking it a portrait lens on the d7000.

Does it have the same focus issues as the Sigma 50 f/1.4?

Not that I've noticed, Its quick, accurate, I've not even need to use the micro correction on the D7000.
I was after a 85mm Portrait lens and was thinking the Nikon 1.8, but didn't like the bokeh at anything other than wide open on the shots I saw from it, so spent a wee bit more and went for the sigma. It was the same price new as the older Nikon 1.4 was second hand and had quicker auto focus. so new toy was bought.

And a couple of shots from Boston Museum of Science Butterfly Garden.
