Took my D80, D700, and the 300 f2.8 IF ED with 1.4 TC out for a spin today.

These first three shots were with the D80 on the 300 f2.8 and TC. I was actually quite surprised at how easy it was to mf with this combo. Obviously the better the light, the easier it is, but still. I decided to take my monopod with me today as it's one thing to shoot street handheld, and another to shoot this stuff handheld. A lot more waiting with your eye at the viewfinder type thing. Iso was 320, shutter speeds were 1/2000th, wide open with TC.

The following shots are all D700 with the 300 f2.8 and TC. Iso 800 for the first two, Iso 2500 for the last two.

Very nice - my only real suggestion would be to add a slight (and subtle) vignette to the right hand edge to prevent the eye from leaking out of the frame.

Worth a shot once I get back in to CS5, just can't find the time at the moment with school.
Ironic, since I uploaded that in my photography lesson, but still. :D

I mentioned this on Flickr, but I love the way her skin glows in this. Any tips to get that effect?

Model is pretty much faceing the light which gives kind of Ringflash halo afect, little bit of PP and your golden :).

Rest of the set up 2 black flags (calumet frames) either side boxing in for shadows, rear gridded snoot for Hair light & a large sofbox camera axi for fill down low but could of used a reflector if i had a reflocrta stand.

On the "Breakthrough" Picture, there's a red horizontal line about 2/3ds up the right tree?

Is that your watermark, or a scan effect?

It's actually a problem with the negative - I thought I'd done a good job of getting rid of the line (which went all the way across the neg) as it was just a case of tweaking the levels/curves to get rid of most of it. I've obviously not completely eradicated it though as, after a closer look, it's still present in the right hand tree a little.

Dust spotting these negatives takes an awful amount of time, but I must've spent a five or six hours getting rid of (the majority of) that. I obviously didn't spend long enough - thanks for pointing it out! :)
