they're not the best quality but they're usually 2048 across the longest side, enough for web work any way. I generally use them as a digital contact print before deciding if anything is worth a rescan. ah, I didn't realise you had a tube. No your probably doing it right, try bumping up the back light on your monitor. Worth remembering if you zoom too far you'll end up picking out the individual pixels of the screen, it might make your images look noisy.
Love the shots mars-bar! Been driving my new scoot around a lot lately... Also got a 6D + 35/1.4L stolen... also got EOS-M Crazy week :/
Great shots Neo. Love seeing your pics because they tell me a story of what youve been up to and i love the setting. Ive been quiet in this thread, but trust me its the calm before the storm. In the next month im doing British Superbikes, World Superbikes and MotoGP!!! Cant wait to get the gear set up and get shooting
Am I reading this right? if so really am sorry to hear it man that must really suck donkey d*ck insurance?? One shot from me tonight, been shooting my negatives again, made a little contraption and get some much better results thanks from the tips you guys gave me and the interwebs! Will post the processed negatives when they're all complete shooting negatives - the tools by dan-morris, on Flickr
First ever DSLR shots I've posted here or anywhere. Don't feel any need to be kind, I'd actually love constructive criticism - background of the shots is almost 5 hours of cleaning and polishing/coating this one wheel, tyre and arch. Nothing done in post because I'm posting from a crappy spare laptop at the moment Thoughts?
I know, right? Any car looks better shining like new though, and I suffer from OCD - obsessive car detailing Plus you gotta love what you have etc etc I agree with you on that. These are photos I'm taking for a detailing log that I'm writing, so the other two will be more interesting to the folk reading the log when they see the before pictures compared to those. I agree that on their own, out of context, they're boring Any pointers on how to 'shop the lathered one when I'm back on my desktop to darken the background and get rid of the yellow pole, cable etc?
Get yourself some Lightroom Thought there was a bit of odd flare or something on the near right corner but I see its actually just something on the tire!
Have Lightroom... No idea how to use it though Yes the tyre is brand new, the red mark is an indicator of some sort. It'll weather off eventually
Just play with everything, it's non-destructive so you can't break your photo Use the develop tab, it's easier to tell how far you're pushing something/how much further it can go. Once as I get this WPFG video finished I'll try n get an evening to come down!
The red and yellow marks are put on the tyre to indicate where to align it to the valve (red) and the heaviest spot of the tyre (yellow), to make weight balancing easier!

I like them. The owl portrait is brilliant though. Quick test roll from a new to me Ricoh compact, didn't get much interesting but I liked this one. 2013-06-Vista-K500031 by steveo_mcg, on Flickr
@whisperwolf, love them. I wondered what kind of AF allowed you to get such a good capture of the falcon... D7000... need I ask any more?! Great stuff.
Pretty sure I'd switched from my standard single point A mode to the 3d tracking mode for the the falcon. that shot is just after it launced from the handler so I had a point it could lock on before it took off. I had tried the fully auto mode for a Harris Hawk a few minutes before and although it tried its best I had too many shots of perfectly in focus posts and grass and blury hawk to even attempt the same witht the falcon. The 3d focal tracking is very good so long as it can get a lock to start with.
