Got another shot on the news a few days ago: Submitted this on the 31st but obviously I've had a bit too much screen time as it wasn't aired
How did you take that first shot? It's fantastic. Here's some from me to make up for the time spent away from the forums: VT-IFI flight deck: I shot VT-IFI departing Goa in May last year. Almost exactly 7 months later, in December, I flew her from Delhi to Goa! Il-38SD: Yeah, yeah, seen one seen 'em all. But I just can't get enough of the bloody thing, it's so... Russian. Right down to the ugly paintjob. LCA takeoff w/smoke on: I hate this plane, but pictures like this sell, so... HAL Rudra: Take a light, low-cost utility helo and strap some serious heat on it. What's not to like? And last, from my most recent trip, a freshly-retired MiG-21FL: It's only the MiG-21FL variant (Type-77) that's been retired. MiG-21MF/bis/Bison variants will continue in service for the next 5-10 years because the country (and Armed Forces) are run by raging morons
That's one of the things I can never bring myself to do. Scares the crap out of me to put my equipment in harm's way, weathersealing et al be damned.
I was going to say "Wow, they've really updated the avionics on that May", but then I read the caption. Oh, man, you'd hate shooting with us then! Between my girlfriend and I, we kill at least three cameras a year while kayaking. We finally figured out that the waterproof point and shoots aren't proof against getting mashed into the sand by a wave while attached to an overturned kayak. There have even been times when we've killed two cameras in a single day. Makes for an expensive hobby! What we do now is use only the Go Pro for surfing and buy waterproof P&S cameras used with the expectation they will get killed eventually. I'm more careful with my DSLR, keeping it in a waterproof bag when not actually shooting, but still, it's a risk.
Hah! Yeah, the -38 has an oooooold flight deck. Yeeesh. I got a GoPro precisely because I was so terrified of trashing the rest of my stuff. Well that and the fact that I'm probably going to ride backseat in a fighter sometime soon and want to be prepared
Nice shot dude , I've had many a session like that, knee/waist deep lol, its when you get splashed thats annoying lol.
That happened a few times. made sure to give my 6D a full clean up (as well as the lens). Wasnt keen on corroded parts Thanks everyone else! I thought id try out the weather sealing a little It stood up to a few sprays! Today was planning on getting some skiing shots. but left my battery in the charger at home Faaaark....
Weather sealing is all well, but if it isn't covered by warranty, I'm not chancing it! More: Controls by Angad Singh | Zone 5 Aviation, on Flickr International Power by Angad Singh | Zone 5 Aviation, on Flickr

Yes and no. It is a MiG-27 and India bought a licence to produce them, so way more than just a few - they made something like 150-160 units. Many have been retired though, and there are I think only 3 squadrons left.

My first attempt at a star trail. Not entirely happy with it, but I came away knowing how I can make it better next time! All the time in the world by Polarity Photo, on Flickr
