I enjoy looking through the pictures in this thread from time-to-time so it's about time I contributed something to it.

Churches/Cathedrals are great for sheltering from the baking sun, and good places to take pictures too.

Stonedsurd, I love your "On the ramp" pic, it shows the business end very well (F14 Tomcat?). Was it taken with a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8? If so, I also have one - it's my "walkabout" lens and I used it to take the pic above. Great lens isn't it?

Oh, and how do you get access to such great 'planes? (/jealous :) )

    - Mikoyan MiG-29KUB, not Tomcat

    - Yep, Tammy. It's my go-to lens for walkabout too unless I'm really feeding my DoF obession with the 50mm f/1.4

    - Access is a side-effect of my job - I work in the industry.

Awesome, i was invited to go tomorrow, but i've declined, even though the Red Arrows will be displaying. £8 return for the train with a further £6 for the bus AAAnd food. Glad i didn't buy food there, £3.50 for a medium Ice Cream & Flake, £6 for a plain burger.

I remember watching the hovercraft land on on the beach at Portsmouth as a kid. My only advice would be to rotate it a degree or so counterclockwise to level the buildings and horizon. Otherwise, great shot.

Thanks for the advice, noted, and edited, should be updated now.

I agree Stone, that Ferrari was stunning, but i only took 3 photo's of it, too many people crowding around it.

Saw a macro shot earlier, decided to share this one. And i'm once again annoyed how the picture is brighter in the browser compared to when I view it on my computer.
    Anyway, that's a Christmas decoration.

Speaking of macro.....A good friend of mine sent over his latest efforts today and they totally blew me away. On the original shot, you can zoom in to a totally bewildering amount of detail. His name is Gary Foulds, and he owns the copyright. He's available for Weddings, Bar mitzvahs and funerals on request (well, maybe not funerals)

Do you know what he shot that with? Mine was just a 24-105 with kenko extension tubes.
