Our second shoot together, and MANY more to come. She's so photogenic, and we get along amazingly well.
I'm back from one of the most exhilarating trips of my life! I spent the last few days covering a joint Indo-US Army exercise in northern India and had a blast taking pictures and interacting with the participants. Took a motorcycle trip to the Algarve earlier in the week and I had a blast. Portugal is a gorgeous country that's made for biking and easy to get lovely photos of. Near Cabo de Sao Vicente, the most south westerly point of mainland Europe and a perfect spot for watching the sun set.
Not quite up to the standard of some of the photos in here but I thought I'd post this anyway. Decided to finally give my new lens (Canon 55-250 STM) a try today - first shot out of an open window came out rather nice if I do say so myself
That sounds like a spectacular experience. I'm jealous. And this is a wonderful picture out of that experience. Cropped vertically right on the soldier and framed by the two trees, it almost looks like something out of a movie poster. Here are a few recent pictures. My daughter had a homework assignment to take some pictures of her with a "reading" theme. So we did what anyone else would do and converted the living room into a makeshift studio. I'm amazed how many books she has, back in my day all I had was a copy of Sam Tan on VHS and a brick with London written on it.
From the Regatta a couple months ago; contrast/sharpness is pants due to the awful overcast sky and low cloud ( RedArrows actually had to cancel half way through their display as it was getting so bad ), and the cheapo 1.4x extender I bunged on the 70-200mm robbed some sharpness ( dear Santa, I would like a 600mm f/4 for Christmas, cheers ) too...
Looking at those books I now understand where half the TV series that run here that I never heared of are based upon.
Thanks! Thanks. I really like that one too, just wish I had the right kit for that kind of shot. I suppose sometimes you have to make lemonade... Great series, but my favourite is the last one - Charlotte's Web is one of those childhood books that stays with you forever. The Reds shot is great. The last time I was at an airshow with low clouds, instead of cancelling a scheduled routine the organisers treated us to a gloriously ear-splitting low-level fighter display This is a shot from my trip last week. It would have been a much better display and they could have finished it if they didn't have to stick to the minimum altitude rules- being in a river valley only complicates things as the cloud rolls in and turns the whole place into a grey murky soup. We also had the Sea Fury cancel due to it's crash landing a few weeks earlier, the Lancaster cancelled because of an engine failure, and the Blades display team cancelled due to the cloud too- maybe next year eh?
