When it's that tight, I prefer the head to be a bit more centered. Also, I would say lift the whites a bit, but then the TV (?) in the background becomes even more distracting... 14 hours without electricity, came up with a way to prepare my evening tea. Welcome to Canada, mate !
Hi all, I hope everyone is well, I can see some very good quality shots being posted as usual!! ive been a bit quiet recently due to xmas etc but i have just done a new website and I will be progressively be uploading more of my 2014 British Superbike images over the next 2 months. Here is one of them:
This thread needs more action! This is a war memorial at the top of the hill on which the city of Dundee is situated. Probably one of the last photos I'll take with my trusty wee Olympus PEN (just got D3200).
A few from the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Getting better at panning shots I think ... This was purely experimental, and I didn't exactly spend a lot of time thinking about how I was going to do it, I literally threw the camera on the tripod and did it in 5 minutes. I already know of at least 4 things I did wrong, but that's part of learning. I haven't blended the exposures for the spire because I tried painting the layer mask to do that earlier and it looked ****, my lack of PS ability being the sole reason for that. Anyway, at the very least, this is what I'm driving these days. As you can see from this shot, it needs a wash at the moment. It needs a wash every day. When does spring start?
Your next trick is try light painting. Similar technique to what you have done, but a shorter exposure and use either a speedlight (and the test button) or a torch and paint the light in over your subject.
That photo was taken in near total darkness, the only light on the subject is coming from my Nitecore Extreme and me running circles around it like a looper! See my 'ghost' in front of the van where I didn't move fast enough to not appear in the shot? I was wearing a red coat [edit] Here is the correctly exposed (but incorrectly focused ) background shot of the spire which I tried to blend, it gives you an idea of the light level in the foreground.
