Amazing shot. Looks very sci-fi. --- More bees We discovered this spider in the basement today - don't know how long it's been there. Some googleing revealed that this is apparently some kind fungus that kills spiders very slowly. Sounds horrifying, but looks pretty cool. Don't have a nice external flash unit, so the pic looks a bit crappy. 100% crop of a different photo to see the structure
More cracking pictures, Stonedsurd. I remember the other engines pic you posted, have you considered taking pictures of more planes from that perspective as a sub-project? Nice Seafire picture too. I know an elderly chap who served 22 years as an officer in the Royal Navy, including a long stint on HMS Eagle (the Ark Royal's sister ship). He once told me about the Spitfires which were modified for use on aircraft carriers. Apparently, because they weren't built for the stresses of arrestor-hook landings, their frames would eventually warp, causing creases in the surface. Any more than seven (iirc) creases and they'd ditch it over the side of the ship.

Whilst on holiday my main lens broke so I took my Helios-44 to the beach. It's older than I am and fully manual so not the easiest thing to use. Saying that I was pleasantly surprised with some of the photos. This one in particular came out well. On The Beach by Philip Veater, on Flickr
Was up at Blackpool Air Show to see the Vulcan on Sunday. My pictures wilt in the light of stonesurd's (obviously!), but I'm quite pleased with this one: Silhouette Vulcan by HarvB, on Flickr The light was woeful on the day, with a very flat sky, so some masking and tweaking was needed!

I spent this afternoon at a big local agricultural show which was pretty cool. I took the camera along to take some snaps and as I'm going through a black & white phase at the moment, the little Fuji was set to b&w. Oink. Two by two. Moo. Big fella. Moo. Giant Welsh Black.

This is a smaller version of the original. Original is about 50MB and 23000x7700 resolution. Comments please, there is a lot of photoshop there to cut through haze, which is something that I am new to. , on Flickr
I like this one quite a bit , not normally all over the white & bright but she seems to work with this type of image .
