We go there every year, there's some good hills around the Hope valley. Sadly never seen it around the magic hour because it takes a couple to get there.
I left at 04.30 to get there just before 5.45, shortly after these photos a lot of people in hi-viz turned up and seems we had decamped at a checkpoint for a fell running spot. Even though it was a private road, we had a chat with the organisers and they said we could stay as we wasn’t in the way. We moved off about half an hour later however. (Just after a brew) Didn’t want to outstay our welcome. Not great photos because they were taken on an iPhone. But, my happy place ☺️
As long as a photo makes you feel anything then its a great photo because its achieved its goal also I like the mist and the clouds, I've been messing around in photoshop
Looks good, and you've been able to manage edge contrast with a 'white' product on a white background well. Used to spend ages getting that right doing product shots at the camera shop **EDIT** Hand for scale is good, but watch strap is distracting IMvHO
Yeah, that's always a nightmare. Little bit easier this time around 'cos it's a sort of IBM beige! I'll have to try to remember to take it off next time - or learn to shoot left-handed, I guess!
Your thin thumb/fingers/hand remind me of that soyboy meme where he’s asking the robot to open the bottle.
As a man who drinks about fifty gallons of soy a week, I love the soy memes. But Gareth's hand is pretty normal imo. Totally on topic ****, this.
I went out on Sunday was meant to be doing some HDR shots but it was to windy and yucky out so i ended up getting some crashing wave shots
Sam, nice photo with subtly coloured sky there. Is the X-H1 your new camera? I'm running a Nikon D7000 which I have never been 100% pleased with image wise. There is something that doesn't feel right about them. One friend has the same feeling, another loves his D7000 over his FF D610... I also bought a Fuji X-T1 to try mirrorless, and am still finding my way with it. I need to get out more and try some comparison tests so I can decide which way to jump. Split systems is a bit inefficient as I don't do as much photography as I used to.
Thanks @Arboreal, Yeah, I've been wanting a Fuji for some time now, but back in May I stupidly just went and 'bought' a Canon, and I regretted it, and sold it a month later. Nikon is now the only system I've not used/owned (No one owns Pentax.... Right?) And I've never had any desire for Nikon either. The Fuji is a learning curve, Especially after the Canon M50 I had, and the Olympus OM-D-EM1 I had previously. The lens is the 'Basic' 18-55mm kit lens, But something I've come to learn is Fuji don't really make bad glass. XC glass is the basic gear, XF glass is the premium gear, So I'm now trying to decide what Lens to get next, And I want to get a Small Carbon Fibre tripod too. Rumour is, The XH2 will be 40+MP and still APSC, and Sigma will finally officially announce and release X-Mount lenses. I hope you work out which system works best for you. That made me think back to my first camera, a Zenit. Been thinking about getting back into it as there are some lovely birds around here. So is it all mirrorless nowadays? They have any major advantages/drawbacks apart from price? TBH I may just stay with digital as mirrorless maybe too prohibitive when factoring in a lens for bird photos. In conclusion I think I best get reading up really...
