That X-H1 look s areally lovely camera to use, with the benefit of IBIS. I bought a used X-T1 having borrowed an X-E1 for a bit.
I too bought the XF 18-55mm lens, which is really nice. Reputedly the best made and performing kit Zoom lens. I considered the XC 16-50, but wanted the better build.

If I jump to Fuji, I'd look at and X-H1 rather than an X-T2 or X-T3.

I've used and owned Nikons for nearly 40 years...wow, is it that long?
I did have a foray into the world of Canon in the early 90s when Nikon AF stuff was behind the curve. The F801 was well made and solid, but the AF on the EOS 650/620/600 with their integral motors was something else.
I even had a beautiful EOS 1 for a time, such a brilliant ergonomics and handling.
I chopped it against a Mamiya RB67 medium format monster, and bought a low end Nikon.

At the time I was working in pro camera retail and had the use of full Nikon and Canon Demo/Loan kit, so didn't buy any for mysel. In fact, the boss discouraged it. Fine until I left the job and had not a lot of kit!

Pentax? I'm told they were THE thing to have in the '60s when their Spotmatic was the business and before Nikon & Canon muscled in on the SLR action

Sigma X mount? That'll be interesting to see, they have some lovely Art lenses by all accounts

@adidan They're all good, with very little duff stuff these days. Some of the entry level gear is light and plasticky, with not so nice viewfinders on cheaper DSLRs. They're low magnification and dark.
Mirrorless is seen as sweeping away DSLRs, but they have their place. I am only buying good used kit now, so there are lots of choices and bargains to be had.
Find something that works for you and you'll find they all have plenty of options at all price points and most have lots of lenses available.
Mirrorless has a potential advantage that you can adapt all sorts of older lenses onto them because of the lens position without a mirror. It'll be manual everything or aperture priority if you're lucky.

I did take the camera out again yesterday (Sat 12th) but the weather was the worst possible conditions for photography, Zero wind, grey clouds and the sea was almost as flat as the local pond.
This image is one that i captured:

Sure, it's a right out of camera JPEG, but I don't really know if editing it will make much of a difference.

I did however, notice something interesting. I did physically set this photo as a 1*1, Yet, it's RAW file is standard 3*2.
Still, it's a learning process, I just need the weather to play better.

Cheers David, Turns out, so do a few others, as I've woken up to 50+ notifications and this photo is now part of Flickr's Explore page for Dec 27th, Which frankly to me, is SUPER awesome.
