ITX seems to be quite the fad tbh. On a classified forum I frequent there was an initial outburst of wanted threads for ITX gear. Then all of a sudden you find it back up for sale with the obligatory "Going back to MATX/ATX" Personally I love big desktops. Maybe it's a Epeen thing? or maybe I like having the option to keep adding hard drives, second GPUs or what not to my build over time? I went to PCworld and it definitely seems things are shrinking. Fine if you're low on space but even a flat has a decent sized living room now.
I personally think MATX is the perfect size. Watercooled GPUs mean you can fit SLI and a sound card - what else do I need?
Yeah true if you're going water. Sadly my main "Aspie fear" is taking an open loop cooler anywhere near my components, so I will never use water cooling. I've tried SLI (and Quad SLI just for the chits and giggles) on MATX but it never ends well. Top card always overheats. I actually like to make a focal point out of my PC so the bigger the better really. I'd love a go on that MATX Obsidian though !
Its just had a logitech G710+ added to it but I am sort of thinking I wanted to get the corsair k95. I guess ill get used to typing on it. Specs are: Fractal Design Node 304 Asus Z77 Mini ITX Corsair H60 Water Loop Corsair GS600 PSU CPU 2700K EVGA GTX680 16GB Crucial Tactical Tracer 512GB Samsung 840pro Logitech G35 Logitech G500 Logitech z5500 6TB Synology DS212J 2xDell3008WFP Monitors (1 on DP 1 on DVID) on 2 Ergotron MX Desk mount arms Logitech C920Webcam Steelcase Leap V2 Chair That about wraps it up. I had a little tidy up and now looking like this:
Just a quick update - things will be finished off once I receive my extensions from Shrop / Pexon (and I'll post some better quality images too )
It's pretty cute. Not too much of a fan of the ridged look, but it's still a cute looking case. That's a tidy setup. Nice desk too!
I'm so chuffed with it - fits perfectly on my desk which is under eaves so short cases are a must and the cooling is spot on
boogie bug aimb.pad xl (catchy name I know...) and it is huge 450mm x 900mm Good luck trying to find one in stock anywhere though... If I could I'd probably buy another so that when this one expires I'd have a spare...
Before coming to bit tech I thought I had a cool looking water cooled pc. Now I realise its a butt ugly mess and I don't want to spend money to tidy it all up. It would need a total tear down and rebuild with money spending on new color coordinated bits. At least my iPad has a nice green faux leather case and looks today.
