    First one is brilliants.

Second one would be beautiful in big 1900x1200, if it didn't have that string in the tree.

Did you use some form of softener on this? I know that's not proper camera speak but I don't know the technical term.

Nice. Love the water effect, what exposure time did you use? (Assuming that's a long-exposure shot, I'm probably wrong.) :D

Both were taken using an 8x ND filter and CPL to slow down the shutter speed a little.
Both were about 0.5 seconds exposure.

The first one is a quality shot. Absolutely perfect.

EDIT: Looked at it again. It really is perfect.

For the first one I think it's the rock that makes it, it looks at first glance to be off center, but I think the right edge is almost perfect center if I'm right?

The rock is definitely a good focal point. The rectangular shape in otherwise very organic/fractal arrangement makes a nice contrast. I cannot decide whether the diagonal line of the higher cloud deck almost exactly mirroring the diagonal of the waterline and ripples (with the horizon in the middle) is pure luck or composition genius. Note how the shrubs/trees sweep inwards drawing attention to the focal point. The ducks add just the right level of interesting detail.

The 0.5 shutter speed softened the water reflection and defined the water ripples more.

    Like I said: perfect.

Stunning shots, mate. And I noticed the ND effect immediately with the slower shutters. Used to brilliant effect, bravo. :thumb:

Which filters you using, btw? By 8x do you mean 8 stops? That'd be around 2.0, right? Mine's a B+W 1.8 at 6 stops and they also do a 3.0 at 10 stops. Never seen an 8 stop one, though.

    It's a Hoya NDx8 (0.9) 3 stop filter.
