I'm on a hunt. Since owning my Wacom tab and making the transition from analogue to digital drawing, I've been craving that real pencil like brush effect. I've seen a few perfect examples, but they are all part of a pay-for collection and I just can't justify further expense for that hobby, I managed to wrangle a copy of CS6 through work and that was enough. With the erodible tip options, I feel that I'm almost there, but the brushes are just off-perfect. Does anyone here have a reccommendation? Links for a free compilation pack? Support for erodible tips isn't neccesary but is desirable. Fyi, I draw anything from construction concepts to high-fantasy, albeit rather badly. no ponies.
I'll root through my brush collection, see if anything I have fits the bill... However if you're on windows 8, give this a try.
That looks pretty sweet I'll knock around with it tongiht! And I appreciate the rummage! I've also been using Smith Micro's "Manga Studio" purely for the brush mechanics and the assistive perspective drawing but it's infantile in comparison to a properly setup photoshop.
I found this in my brush folder, never really used them but they seem pretty ok. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/437496/Share/PencilSet_Vol02.abr Actually I have another really good soft sketching pencil brush, but I'm legally not allowed to share it I think. :/ (it's one of Justin Gerard's brushes, which were included in the Lamp Post Guild kickstarter) On a related note, these fine arts brushes by Ditlev are pretty much obligatory for anyone painting in PS, should you not have them already: http://cghub.com/scripts/view/147/ http://cghub.com/scripts/view/85/
