I was just lookin at Pi-Thon and I was wondering which type of clamp i'd need in my WC system? the hoselocks or the hexlocks?

Is there any one in the UK who sells these?

it looks like any with the right diameter would work.

I need to get some of those for my rig.

Yup; it doesn't matter what shape/type they are, as long as they are the correct diameter for your tube/barb.

There are no resellers in the UK. You'll have to order them from the US, unfortunately.

Do these come into contact with the liquid? They are super-bling... but they are Anodised Alu.

Well if they're anodized, you wouldn't need to worry about galvanic corrosion.

i think theyre designed to replace hose clamps... no contact with water (unless it spills, and then the hose clamps would be the least of your worries)

As uwannabigmak says: they do not come into contact with water. They clamp around the outside of the tube and barb.

Nexxo how much did you pay for yours? I was looking at some of the distributors sites and came back with $16.95 over here, and similar prices on the other sites. Did you get them any cheaper or no? I'm seriously considering buying some, but anything over a few dollars each just seems 'just not worth it' when i'd need 8-12 of them.

That was about what I paid for them. I think you can order them cheapest from Pi-Thon themselves, but they're still pricey... Quality kit costs.

Yeah.. you can say that again Firehed. I'd be willing to pay $5 each, but $15 per just seems a little bit out there to do your hole system with them. I mean, spending $100-$150 on hose clamps when I have other hardware upgrades that I needs just seems to be money spent in the wrong place. But they are sweet as hell.

And yeah uwannabigmak, make sure that they'll fit over the hose while its over the barb. Make sure that the min. compression will be far enough down to put pressure on them to make the seal to. But it seems like for our water cooling purpuses your looking at mainly the Vacuum type ones, which only offers 1 type in 1/2 inch ID and 1 type in 3/8 inch ID.

Have a lok at the table onthe pi-thon site, it explains the measurements well.
