mostly in it for a tiny htpc.
same specs as lysol's, but maybe a soldered on haswell cpu (i7 Cheesecake!).
i'd like to see a bit more ram though, somewhere along the lines of 4-8gb.
1. I see no need in DIY x86 board on Kickstarter, because DIY ARM boards (Raspberry Pi, PandaBoard, etc.) cover all the needs
AMD APU would be good in an even smaller form factor....

If it has enough juice to do something useful at a reasonable price, then yes.
As promised, the required number of votes has been lowered to 150. We have 37 votes so far.
I'm more of a 1, but I can still sort of see the appeal. Good luck with your attempts though

3. I would consider to back up a DIY x86 board project on Kickstarter
Intel NUC is cool, but imho costs too much atm, would be nice to have something small like that, for less quids.
3. I would consider to back up a DIY x86 board project on Kickstarter -- if you select this answer, you need to also order the importance of things to you:
I think for me, they should all be of equal importance.
If I'm looking specifically at a small form factor unit, I want it to (obviously) be small enough, while retaining both a good performance AND having a decent price.
I wouldn't mind a small sacrifice in one, for a benefit in another, as long as they were proportionate.
If someone put me up against a wall and made me choose an order it would be as follows: CBA
3 - A,C,B
3 - C, B, A
1 but for the record A, C, B.
3 a, c, b
