News Picture of AMD Thorton CPU at HEXUS

Hexus have pictures on their front page of the "Thorton" core CPU from AMD. Rumours about Thorton have been circulating, so it could be the real deal - even if Zap's in the dark about it...

So that would be a Tbred then..?!

 

I don't get what is "new" about this processor?

A Barton with 1/2 the cache is a Throughbred.

This may be just a new rev of throughbred, yes it would be cheaper but with a few upgrades like 400mhz FSB.
(Take the Ba out of Barton, and put a Tho in for Throughbred)

But around here, no one uses the worth Thorton.
We constantly test new Revs of Throughbred.

Of course less cache, but higher FSB would be a good middle of the road processor.

 

I wonder if it has a chocolate core...
