heh, i guess this is mostly a pc site but this is a little thingie i did as side project to my casemod to practice painting.

so, if you have time/interest, you can read it through or just look the pictures of the progress (sorry about the bad quality)

I have a board that i jumped in half and repaired with epoxy, it probably cant take any big hits anymore but its good enough for some beginners (my relatives/friends) and it still looks like any other board. So i thought, if it already is f*cked, theres nothing bad about improving my painting skills by going even further X-D

    so, one crappy board
    [IMG]

it had the core showing in quite a few places... the plastic had broken off.
so i went them over with sand paper
    [IMG]

some glass-fiber bondo... the yellow stuff seen there would have cracks when the board bends.... didnt have glass-fibre bondo when the board broke and used that stuff, now its all cracked

    one of the larger spots

and another. also fixed up the tips of the board, no point to show those thanks to bad photo quality tho.

So, the board was sand papered, cleaned and i went over with the silicone wash.

didnt find any tones i liked at home, green red, silver etc. were not so nice imo. but dad was going to paint a car he was working on, unfortunately, the paint store gave him a little wrong paint, so i got to use that, bluesish-black pearlcent(sp?)

used like 4 layers... probably overkill but im a noob at this. came out nice and smooth tho.

so, i wanted to add graphics, unfortunately i didnt find that special thin tape for stuff like that.... tried to do a stencil
    [IMG]

but that was a stupid idea, even if i did cut it out, i could never get clean edges when its not glued on the board surface... the paint gun would blow it around. i gave up, thought the black thing looks quite slick.

but then, one of my friends in school said to but some tape on the board and cut it out with the paper/carpet or what ever its called knife. i said it would also gut the paint below, he told just to go over it gently. well, did that, used a small test area, didnt put on any pressure at all, unfortunately the knive was quite sharp and made a deep gut so i had no choise but to through with it.

the original idea was to do the whole board but that would of been ****load of cutting, so i made this:

    money green :brows:

So, in the beginning, when thinking on how to make a vector babe stencil, i also made a small stencil out of a drawing i made in school, thought a stencil that small might work
    original
    [IMG]

    enlarged it by freehand
    [IMG]

    cut it out
    [IMG]

    thin layer of paint:

    carefully removed the tape

    metallic paint rocks!

well, it still needs a clear coat, i will try to get some when my dad paints the car with it... should be soon.

some fractures from the bodo for the epoxy treatment and lots of scratches from idiots riding over it are still seen, but if i had used bondo on them and had kept the base as scratchless as my current board, i think it could be sold to some noobs as a new one :worried: :D

heh, sister got back from thailand so i got my hands on her camera. unfortunately, she was about to leave and the board was just clear coated... so the room was filled with white paint fog and as the flash on the camera sucks, the photos without flash came out a little crappy thanks to the white fog (and my low experience with that camera)

well, the clear coat hasnt dryed yet, so i think the colors will change a little, and ofchource the camera sucks too, the lighter area should look money green but it seems more like blue on the pictures
