Is there a program that will allow for pingless traceroutes? Preferably for linux?

I'm a little confused at what you want to figure out. Do you just want to hide your IP during a traceroute? If so, I think an IP masker program should do that. (NetTools contains a good IP Masking tool)

Also a little confuzzed, however what I *think* the poster is asking is if he/she can ping a host that blocks ICMP requests, or a host in between that blocks ICMP requests. You can try a little command line utility called ftrace, it allows you to do a UDP ping.

I *think* it's just blocking ICMP requests, but it doesn't even resolve the ISP past my dsl modem... but I can tracert to other places and it works just fine...
I'm trying to figure out what keeps going down between my connection and the site I'm working on, but it's proving to be a right *****. :grr:

Oh yeah, and ftrace times out too... (again everything past the modem...)
