the maps in counter strike source seems to go pinky and black in some places sometimes, anyone else had this problem? could it be heat? fubared ram? fubard driver or fubard gfx card?

personally i think it's the ****ed up drivers as cs:s seems to just freeze then continue, this never happened on my last install of cs:s ?

also anyone know the 'vilendiadoirj' universal drivers or whom ever they are called? *the part creators of hl-2* optimised drivers? i wouldn't mind trying them last time for some reason it went ****ed up so i have installed the crappy upto date nvidia ones :duh:

also it pi**s me off when objects don't load properly in cs:s and on top of that i get loads of runtime errors where memory can't be read :grr:

do you mean pink and black checkers for the textures?

if so thats what a map looks like when its missing all the textures.

Its happened to me a few times i think from alt tabbing, but in my case some objects like crates and barrels would turn a solid black color.

Just means some of the textures are missing. Try re-installing the game, or just put up with it ;)

If it's an official map, something is wrong. If it's a custom map, it's someone who sucked at designing and left out the textures (or the server failed to give you any custom textures)

HL2 does that sometimes. A texture may not load correctly, or you may be missing a texture file somewhere. Switching apps a lot does that to me when I am playing. I've had my hostie models suddenly look like explosions of random polygons after I came back from an alt+tab.

Hmm wonder if there is a way to take advantage of this and make the map have invisible walls.....

thats not even the worst. heres from castleball:

its pretty apparent to me that there are some sort of graphic issues in source. This has only happened to me twice. I get a lot of pink/black randomly too, but then again I'm running a nvidia and you know valve's history with ati as of late.
