Fresh coat of pink on my DVD tray
That cant be good for the DVD drive, I would have dismantled the thing before spraying it.
Pink... is diferent, add some accents on another color and it will loook better.... stilll is nice...goo gooo goooo....
well, I taped it pretty good, so I think it's okay.
here's the second coat on my case:
the lighting's different though, it's cloudier today.
Nice job on the paint, Shannon. Is there a reason you're a bit scared of hacking? A dremel is indeed your friend...
Oh, and about the 'being a girl' thing...be careful, don't feed the locals around here
What pain did you use? Just regular can of spray paint from Hardware shop?
i dunno i mean ....... ...... ..... ok no clouds
pink wouldnt exactly be my choice of colour, but if thats what u want interesting to see how this turns out, btw - is there a computer, or is it just a dvd drive
I'm not scared of hacking, I just don't really want to cut things. Also, I'm trying to use just things I already have. Yes, I already had the spray paint. I did use a special primer for the plastic which has worked perfectly for things like the mouse in the past.
My sister is over here now so she's going to help me paint on the S or make a stencil for it, we haven't decided yet. I even plan to paint a faux case badge with the S in the case badge spot.
There will be a computer in it, the computer parts just aren't in there yet because I'm painting it. I fully intend on having pictures taken of myself while I am assembling it.
Okay, here's my younger sister drawing a stencil for me. I brought out a shirt for her to use as a guide.
here it is finished, and there I am trying to cut it out
I started thinking about it too much and confused myself about where I needed to cut out so I had to stop and take a break
what are the specs of the components you will be using?
Looking good so far... I like that the colour scheme matches your nails... it's all in the attention to detail!
nice job keep it up. I like the ur photo as a angel it hott.
Ha! Reminds me of tempgrrrl
Shannon, no pink computer is complete without UV - try and find a pink version of this stuff...
haha! That is actually quite funny.
okay, that tempgrrl thing is a little disturbing. Don't feed the locals. I see.
The components are nothing fancy, just stuff that I scrapped from other machines. I've got an Athlon XP 2800+, 512mb RAM, a random socket A mobo, a power supply which is I believe 450 watt, and I have a couple of choices for video and sound cards so I haven't quite decided which I'm going to use. I think I'll be using an older 80gb hard drive. I've got a Netgear wireless card, but I don't know if I'll be able to find drivers for it for linux.
That stencil came out pretty nice.
PC's looking good, perhaps taking teh DVD drive apart would've been a good plan though, you might've got the laser all painted up. They're not that hard to take apart, all you need is a screwdriver.
Nice stencil, it'll be interesting to see how it turned out.
the computer or shannon ?
some pink UV sleeving would work if there is a window in the case
Which card is it? I think Netgear have some linux drivers on their site for download. Any idea which *nix distro you'll be using?
Nice to see something a bit girlier on here for a change
Didn't she already say she's gonna use SUSE? Atleast I think so.
I better buy myself a new computer as 2800+ is "just stuff"
