hmm. I am now Seriously considering Kubuntu. Especially after seeing the video on osvids.com I will be putting the machine together this afternoon(expect pictures!) so I'd appreciate some more feedback on my linux choice. It will be my first Linux install.
Ubuntu is more fun than SuSE. SuSE seems cramped and corporate-y while Ubuntu/Kubuntu (is that just with KDE?) is nice and friendly. ch424
Apparently Kubuntu is the same as ubuntu but with KDE instead of GNOME, which pleases me because I think that KDE is so pretty.
Right. There's also Xubuntu which uses Xfce as window manager. BTW, the case looks good even if I don't like pink at all...
Hmm. Xubuntu looks interesting too. I've already downloaded the isos for Kubuntu, though, so I'll probably install that. The website says that Xubuntu is a "light" version though. I'm just getting ready to start.
Xubuntu is lighter than light, it's polycarbonate it is ment for the old pc's, i mean before pentium I
Oh, well I'm using an Athlon XP 2800, so I think I'll go with Kubuntu. Here's my first section of photos Pile of Parts Me with the Motherboard Choosing Screws Here I am screwing in the mobo

The unidentified graphics card turned out to be a 64mb GeForce 2, so I used that since the other GeForce 2 was 32mb Linksys wireles card. now let's see if I'll be able to find Linux drivers for it. Putting in the Hard Drive
Your paint job is uneven, looks wet in spots, and the sides are splotchy. Sandpapering it down to a flatter, even surface would solve that; I would then re-spray in thin layers - POWDERY thin layers - several times in order to create a surface that doesn’t look like monochrome camouflage. Its not a bad first try, but you definitely pushed it too quickly.
