I think that if there is not going to be any leds behind it, it will be hard to tell that it doesn't fit the space completely. i think it looks great!!
She just thought that one was "cute". Going to do some work tonight and try to devote most of tomorrow as well, look for an update tomorrow night.
small sugestion:if you remove the "mesh" under plexi, it will looks better, I think... Nice work, so far
Do you mean my revolutionary "used dryer sheet" treatment? It solves several problems for me, makes the plexi "translucent" and adds much needed white, to help bring out it's pinkeshness. Plus I like the random pattern...so fuzzy bearish. Thanks, I'll keep plowing, not tired of this project at all, just wish I had more time to work on it!
Just Plowing along...Update 11/08...shiny I decided not to get derailed by redoing things and to just keep moving forward. So, like every mod day, the first thing you need to do is clean up from the last mod day Here is my work area all straightened-up, ready to begin. Here's the stuff I picked up over the last week, mostly more paint and replenishment for abrasives. Well on to work...the word for today is "shiny"...can you say shiny? I finished off the bottom panel for my HD and made it...shiny. Remember back a few posts when I asked for suggestions on how to make the indention's...shiny? Well, all by myself I came up with this solution. Here is the ...shiny...bottom plate installed. Some hours later, the top plate is...well...shiny. shiny....shiny....shiny LED's wired, rails installed and...shiny...HD enclosure installed. Work to date, with...shiny...stuff. Shiny has been brought to you today by...Pinky2. Next up is the power and reset switches, with maybe a detour to possibly...shiny...new fan guards.
Alrighty, that looks... shiny I like the shiny looks of those parts a lot. I think this project is coming together quite nicely. I myself would never have chosen pink, I would have preferred blue or green, but to be honest, it looks good! Keep up the shiny work!!
Personally, I say toss the fabric softener and sand the back of that plate so you get a frosted/translucent look. It will also help difuse any light behind it. The project is coming along nicely, good work! luvbug
Thanks for all the comments folks! Well, you folks are making me rethink the whole dryer sheet backing thing. I'm already concerned with the seams that will show on large areas of the case (right side). I thought I already tested the "frosted" look, but maybe it's time for a relook....thanks! Yes, well shiny was not in the original plan. But when my PSU arrived (many, many months ago) it turned out to be quite shiny, it seemed an evil thing to paint it, so shiny was incorporated. Pink wouldn't of been my first personal choice as well, but the computer's for my daughter [Pinky2girl] and it's themed after her much loved (formally) pink teddy bear. LOL, I forgot about the shiny insulation covering the walls of our unfinished basement....just the place to do shiny stuff .
It's the insulation that the builders put into an unfinished basement. Keeps it toasty, despite the ugliness. Nice shinyness.
Thanks for all the shiny comments! Thanks! Yes, very "scrum-truelescent" indeed (hoping that it's a good thing). I've got a few more sets to install, once done I'll do a bare wire test...with photo's. I had lit it up earlier in the project...but didn't take a pic. It's cheap and fast, and effective, but, ugly as sin. At least I'm not relegated to the unheated garage. Shiny is good. More like aluminum foil backed fiberglass batting. A quick method to insulate the concrete walls of an unfinished basement. It was all on a sub-conscious level, I completely ignore my shiny walls, but, they apparently haven't ignored me
Nice bunker, I mean basement Looks like my garage - not shiney but cluttered. A man's gotta have a refuge away from the women folk where he can work in peace. Urgggg. Me Grug. Bang rocks now..... Look! Fire!!
