Anybody know where I can pick up the Black Plexi in the UK/Ireland that [ShoNuff] used on his project.
Got a chance to do a bit more cable routing yesterday, so here we go. These show the slots cleaned up and protected. And here it is finished....ahh only joking My 1st attempt at braiding and heat shrink. Get rid of that red SATA cable....all black....must be black. One thing I noticed when fitting everything last week was how tight things were at the top of the MB. With the orientation of the MB the USB & FW headers are at the top right behind the Rad. So I have cut the 3 top standoffs to give me a bit more space between the MB & RAD. I haven't fitted the MB yet so I'll need to check how much of a bend it puts on it.
That's pretty brave, deliberately putting a bend in the mobo, I was going to suggest that you cut down all of the stand off, but I only just realised why that won't work (the back plate, duh! ). Maybe get rid of the stand-offs altogether, then you can gently flex the board to put the plugs in, but it won't be held in the wrong position... Everything else is looking great
Mmmm...i like I love black pcs, and black alu ones even better. I was thinking about doing a siilar thing with the drives and connectors, but moving them to the side so i could have my case sideways on my desk. Keep it up!
Well according to Scan there's no problem with my PSU and they're posting it back to me! Guess I'll have to wait and see
Woohoo, got the PSU back from Scan and all works. I have now figured out why it didn't work originally but its far to embarrassing to admit Anyway expect some updates over the weekend.
let me guess... power wasnt on at the wall, power not proply inserted in the rear of the psu, or not connected to the mobo =E. Been there done that several times before, always in a rush just to get them going
if you want to OC forget about that mobo some issues with 1t and 2 comand rate another sugestion take the chipset fan and change it for a iceberg 4 from vantec you will have to mod it a bit but it will fit nicely and is silent and cooper
The issue is (or was, they may have fixed it, I've never had much luck with 1T with my RAM on any board so I can't test) that over 245HTT, you generally needed 2T for stability. Not quite as quick but it really doesn't hamper overclocking abilities.
At last some progress Working on the cable management at the mo. Full shot of the back, as you can see its just started. This shows the ATX Cable, etc at the bottom of the board. I left a spare molex for the LEDs on the AC 6800 Water Coolers Not much I can do with such a thick bunch of cables! This is the main bulk of cables, ATX, 2xPCI-E, SATA & IDE. And the Rad fan fitted in nicely with the cables behind. Thank God for double sided tape So how does the front look? ATX & IDE PCI-E & SATA ATX, Molex, Sound and CD. Still abit of tidying to do though. Obviously when the WC goes in I won't have that nasty CPU Fan there. Well thats it for now. I'm going to install the HDD's and start building the RAID. Maybe next post will be from Pitch Black
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions folks. Thanks for the heads-up but I have no real intention of OC'ing. My experiance with OC'ing is a lotta lotta work for minimal realworld improvement.
