Well this is the second time this has happened........ I'll be running a game for just a little while, and all of a sudden everything becomes pixelated, inside the game and out, first time around I didnt check temps on anything.... but second time around just now I checked everything, and the gpu was a cool 47 degrees..... and my cpu wasnt above 42 on any of the cores...... so any Ideas?

I wouldve thought It was the gpu getting heat screwy.... but I'm thinking it must have more to do with my screwy vista 64 bit install. lol i hate vista sometimes, alot of the time

So any Ideas? and When I say pixelated I mean the entire monitor does it all over, and I have a relatively decent 19" samsumg So I dont think it would be the monitor..... I do a fresh reboot and as soon as it gets to the vista shutdown screen it stops....... any ideas? also if anyone knows wtf is up with superfetch lemme know lol, ive cleaned out prefetch and all that fun stuff and still no go

Try it with xp, but it sounds more like a GPU issue. Either the GPU is borked or there is a thermal issue it might not be the core it could be the video ram or something else related to the pci-e subsystem even the chipset. Either way i'd rma it either that or try reseating the cooler of the gpu, the thermal sensors in these things aren't always accurate it could still be the gpu over heating.

Install Rivatuner and set the gpu fan to 100%. It'll be noisy, but see if you can then play a game without it acting up. If nothing else, it'll tell you if it's a heat issue.

This definitely sounds like a thermal issue. What type of PSU do you have? After the video card, that's the second place I'd look.

Another (slightly ghetto) way to rule out or confirm thermal issues is to take the cover off of your case and point a desk fan at the suspect part... usually works a treat :)
