Windows Planetside and my framerate.

Ok, so no matter what I try I cant get my framerate stable in Planetside.
Ive tried all graphics on, all graphics off, different drivers, different sound cards/network cards, re-installing windows, different recoloutions, EVERYTHING.
Generally I drop to aroung 15fps in heavy fights.

I have:

AthlonXP 2800
1GB Geil Value ram
MSI X800 Pro
Abit NF7-S
Couple of Sata HDD's (one maxtor one segate)

And I really dont know what the issue is. I know others with the same graphics card but different CPU's (still 32bit) who get 50FPS in the same fights.

Any ideas what else I can try before I either end up un-subbing from the game again or just plain throwing my PC out the window!

I know its not the perfect responce, but backup everything you need, format the drive and re-install its almost guarenteed to sort you out. If ya dont like that then try closing all non essential programs in the background, do an ad-aware scan and all that malarky.

 

What video settings have you tested in the game?

 

As I say above. Ive tried every graphics setting imaginable and even tried tweaking with the ini files so as to use the settings that are hidden.

In my persuit ive also switched graphics card to a Radeon 9800 and I get EXACTLY the same FPS which I think is rather strange. It would also lead me to believe I'm CPU limited but I really can't imagine that. I guess I really should post on the Planetside forums also

Oh yeah, and Ive tried different drivers too :/
