A band saw blade on the scroll saw. To prevent melting I use a copper block with a blade sized slit held against the back of the blade, keeps it cool running. Still, need to tidy & organise the room I mod in first.
Design finalised & made it printer ready, workshop is sorted so good to start whenever. I'll think about it for the next few days on if I go ahead with it or design something better.
Back again already. Coming soon, a basic scratch build. Grey or blue externals, black internals. Side window, top & front vents might change by the time I get to doing it. Already ordered everything except the 280mm AIO water cooler, brush metal vinyl's & screws if I don't already have enough so should be posting an update sometime over the next week or 2, I expect it to be a quick project again with me keeping things simple. Reason for a new one already is my HTPC motherboard died so thought I'd go back to 1 system does it all & also use AIO 280mm water cooling.
Designed this basic desk using easy fix connectors & ordered the parts, got spare plywood from another project & should have enough brush metal vinyl wrap to cover the plywood. Link to the easy fix bits, pretty awesome because you can get the bars custom cut at 50p per cut pretty much making it a flat pack project. http://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/EasyFix_Tube_Connectors/c180/index.html
Looking forward to it, something ridiculously complex and Deco maybe Actually I've been designing something that fits that description but just can't get in to it tbh
Yeah suppose it'll have to be a special for my next, done a few easy ish ones lately. If I could get sponsored that would be good motivation to go the extra miles.
I'm surprised you don't get sponsored your work is by far superior to some that do. Mind 99% of sponsored builds are water cooled so maybe that's why, personally I find water cooling old hat every one and their dog does it.
Never asked any companies to sponsor me yet, will do for my next. Water cooling shows off motherboards & memory better than a dominating heat sink but you need space to put a massive radiator, pump & res unless you go with a simplified AIO water cooler which still requires a big space for the rad, next project will be in planning for a bit.
Better yet, you two should team up for something. -Milling a few whimsical heavy aluminum bits for core construction, for example.
I've got nothing for the time being but it's good to know you'd be up for that Teelzebub, I've always designed within my tools limits so would be interesting to raise that with CNC in mind, internal corners have to be rounded for the mill bit don't they, something I remember Nate of e22 saying. Likely be sometime next year before I'm up for doing another project though.
Yeah mind the smaller the bit the sharper the corner and of course the easier to break lol No rush though I'm about to start a build that's going to take a while to do and is actually going to involve something I would never do normally but it just screams it lol
I can't decide to dedicate to buying more expensive tools, seen a nice high res clear resin 3d printer but it's about £1,700, an OK CNC looking at around the same so are purchases you have to be very sure of getting your monies worth from them, maybe even making some money back from selling a few nice products or custom cases. I figure I'd be best investing more time into design practice & maybe learning a better modelling program than google sketchup since 3d printing & CNC requires a kickass design, maybe once I've levelled up my design skill I could justify expensive tools knowing I'd be getting the most out of them but at this moment it would be daft to buy the tools. I might be on the fringe of giving up gaming, if I do I'd have more time & money for modding.
