I live in Denmark, yet spend most of my time playing CZ in the UK. For some reason people seem more mature or at least more good-natured than e.g. in Denmark. At least on the servers I play on. Cheers!
You evidently haven't played with Danish or Swedish players. IMHO, the latter are even worse than the former. The routine goes somewhat like this: First they're cocky and rude telling everyone how everyone else are noobs and how they're going to omgpwn! everyone. Then, when they repeatedly get taken down, they start complaining how everyone is hax0ring etc. etc. and the verbal abuse goes through the roof. Typical teen stuff. Very sad...
i never could understand that mentality. its a game and i'm there to have fun, not to bully some poor 14 year old. +1 for the polite, reserved british. stiff upper lip folks!
what are you talking about ? Wow we really don't understand each other I said the game has always been broken and weird and that players just learned to deal with it. You said that wasn't true but also said that moving players had the advantage when they moved because of a netbug, to which I replied that it was exactly the kind of adaptation I was talking about.
CS v5.2 was the best, shoulda left it alone then. was it v2.1 where u actually got a kill point for gunning down a teammate....was great, everyone used to spawn and kill hte guy with the bets weapon lol
Well, I wouldn't go so far as to call them polite and reserved, but they're certainly a lot more fun to play with! Also, I might have overgeneralized my observations a bit, but sadly they're not that far removed from my experiences.
Don't know either of these versions I'm afraid... CS got to 1.6, and I don't think either CZ or CS:S have any version number...
1.6 is post retail, CS got to 7.1 before the number was reset to 1 at retail (since then CS has been awful btw).
I have played it, but not much. I played it back in the 1.6 days I believe and I found it quite a good game. Also watching movies such as Frag or Die, Re-frag, Pubmasters 1 & 2 and Mousesports etc really was enjoying (and still is). I can see why the game is played by so many people, and the e-sports around it, though I never got into the game that much. I have been playing America's Army for over 6 years now and version 3.0 is soon to be released based on the Unreal engine which is pretty cool since the current engine is really outdated. I've also been playing some Crossfire, which is a free FPS shooter too and it basically looks and feels like CS, which is pretty cool. Even though this game is quite new, I quite like it.
Counterstrike scource is still going strong. Not bad for a 4 year old game. Custom PC have a 32 slot server thats full most nights (see thread) It's been a black hole fo time for me, average about 15 hours a week, 52 weeks a year over four years. = 3000 hours (give or take.) I've spent 40 hours last month on fallout 3 doing all the missions with different styles, all the maps site (with the lev 20 perk option that reveals map) then doing "the pit" But now I'm back on CSS. I love it, very competetive, varied game play
