How come when I got one bit torrent file open and download at 5kB/s and uploading at 3kB/s my ping on games like world of warcraft hit 4500ms ? And when I close it my ping is back to normal (200-300ms):wallbash: My connection is 384/124 DSL.

p.s. Actually everything is messed up, not only world of warcraft ping :miffed:

What DSL service are you on? Or are you on 56k? On 56k, that would be totaly normal.

Does you whole internet connection slow down too (ie, browsing websites?)

I think it's down to the way P2P works (in that it's constantly sending out 'confirmation' packets, which bog down the total connection speed).
Try reducing your upload rate to somewhere between 10 and 15kb/s (which I assume is the max for your connection).

I had this problem with Bearshare, and lowering the upload speed from 'Unlimited' to '20kb/s' seemed to solve it.

You could also try lowering the download rate to whatever the max is for your connection (48kb/s?)
