Electronics please help quickly!! changing 12v to 4.5v

    I need to know what resistors I will need to step 12 volts down to 4.5 volts or how to calculate it. Please help. Please!!

    Yur safer using a regulator, a 5v 7805 should be near enough. :)

    Plus a 1N4001 diode or similar on the output, and you'll get around 4.5V.

    what are you using it for?

    if the current is varying you have to use regulators, but if it's leds or something a resistor should be fine... still need to know current though...
