And now I shall do an painfully difficult thing and NOT install them! It's 10:13 and I've now been up since 15:20 yesterday (gotta love them nights lol). Nevertheless they shall be installed later today and I will post pics of an extremely neat and tidy build (because I'll most likely get lynched if I make a hash job of it and it just wouldn't be right anyway )

It's alive! Will get some pics done when i can (nearly time for work again *sigh*) although it's not the prettiest of case interiors lol

I must make mention of the last one or two to donate with the comment of 'Will get a couple of steam sale games' or words to that effect. The extra did not, in fact, get any steam games. What they did do was the only right and proper thing which was a couple of new fans to keep the new internals cool

 

sweet, what case will they all be housed in mate ?

 

It's a thermaltake M5. Getting on a bit now (and has truly awful options for cabling) but the styling is nicely understated for my tastes and it has great cooling for it's age.

 

Ok so some news. The CPU unlocks to a quad-core! That's some pretty epic bonus right there! Not tried any OCing yet but I might give it a little bump.

I did however come across some little issue. The PSU. Sadly the one I won only has a single 6-pin PCI power connector where as my card requires two. However whilst discussing this at work a mate offered to swap his for mine (the BeQuiet! 650W unit as seen) since he doesn't use it as much as me and uses onboard. (why he bought that PSU I'll never know).

Anyway, the rig as it is (yes i know it looks kinda pants but there really isn't ANY routing ability in the case, that will be amended at a much later date besides they are tidy-ish and well out of airflow )



And since lilgoth asked about the case here it is. I like the styling of it (hence why i bought it all those years ago, probably should have looked into functionality a bit more back then but it's cooling is very good for it's age/price 140mm intake and roof exhaust + 120 rear exhaust)



Please no comments about my very dodgy looking make shift pen tub or rather shitty looking lamp and if you notice or are wondering the picture on the wall behind it is 'Newts In White Satin'

I wouldn't overclock on that board. It's the lowest you can get I think. I doubt the power circuitry would handle an unlocked CPU that's also overclocked. Though a minor bump you may just get away with

 

I'm so sorry about the duty fees, I had no idea. As you can see I made the box contents very vague to deter theft on the declaration sheet.

It's not your fault and it's all been sorted by virtue of this awesome forum

The fact that it happily unlocks to a quad is the best bonus
