I've got an old X1950XTX, i've been complaining about it, hopefully i'm getting a shiny 560ti tomorrow for crimbo. IT's been sluggish, it won't load an image when i boot the computer, making me hard reset several times to make it work and it konks out during games. Please, is this a graphics issue? I don't want to get a new card then it be something else.
Yep, either driver or card defect The only other possibility I could image is some kind of issue with the PCI lanes but that's very very slim.
Well i haven't done any kinda damage to the motherboard, and i haven't changed anything in the bios that affects the pci lanes. So new card it is, good thing too.
I once sliced into a copper track under the CPU socket when my knife slipped. It was a brand new motherboard. I thought I'd killed it. It was fine.
