Okay, so I found a Proto wrench in the Fear2 demo. I was hoping that you guys could keep an eye out for similar instances in other games and, if possible, take a screenshot of them. This was the first time that I ever saw a tool in a game that with a real-world ID, but I'm hoping that there are others out there.
Yes, but what brand! I've seen ladders, hammers, lights, saws, storage units, etc. in various games, but this was the first time that I saw the depiction of an actual tool/product with a real brand and model # on it. Don't I know it!
Would this count as product placement and would they have to pay to use a recognised brand? Don't see somebody like DeWalt to freely let one of their power tools be included, say for example in something like Left 4 Dead and you use an 18V cordless drill with a large auger bit and stick it through a zombies brain when you run out of ammo.
