wooh i like i just got a free BeoCenter 4000 on the grounds that it was broken it has teh CD drive still with it which is brilliant i found the problem with the CD drive-- the motor was stuck but thats all sorted out now it actually ejects motorised by rasing this huuge tinted plexi lid before raising up the whole CD tray (excl. laser+motor) then it uplights the CD with a small white light in the tray It has a dual tape deck + a cool red LED lit tuner graph and an incremental FM+AM signal status display... it is so cool.. the only thing i cant make work is the tape decks.. but i think i might put a small via mobo in it and turn it into a PC dont know tho... might spoil the look of the thing.. but still would be cool to have a PC button that when you press it the PC fires up and the LED which is meant to show the tape deck is on comes on instead... hmmm.. best concentrate on the keyboard for the moment tho i think ideas? comments? pics soon
yea malcs, wtf is a beocenter 4000... this weird thing? well... what in the hell is it, i mean, wtf. weird little piece of equipment...
yep it is that it is so cool seriously that pic shows it ON, that is why you can see the lit up display (lit by lamps not LEDs) and it is seriously big... i mean huuge--- plus i have the Beogram CDX that was with it when i got it that is a photo from the same site showing the CD player-- again on+illuminated.. its not a real good pic i will upload some soon when i find my cybershot upload cable
Looks like an old Bang & Olufsen(sp?) cd player. That would really be cool to build a pc out of. Maybe an mp3 home theater pc sorta thing. Use the originals control buttons and stuff.
Maybe its not big enough but from the looks of it, maybe you could make some sort of mobile audio/video pc out of it. Using a mATX Board and built in sound and video, or if theres some way to connect a card with a 90 degree adapter kind of thing. id be worried about the cooling though. Put a Laptop DVD drive .. or a top loading dvd-rom (it can be done! ) and a decent hard drive in there. Have that lid that flips up have an LCD screen attached to it.. very nice if it is at all possible.. never say never!!! Well, whatever you do with it.. good luck!
got the tape deck to work-- and with it a cool little incremental level indicator its dual colour, and it's done with LAMPS not leds!!!!
