All good apart from the PSU, which is terrible and needs to be swapped for one made by Corsair, OCZ, Enermax, BeQuiet or another reliable manufacturer.

Also, you haven't got a graphics card, so while it'll be fine for word processing etc, you won't be able to do any gaming.

Thanks for the quick response , can you recommed a suitable psu and i was going to replace the Motherboard to a ivbridge asus p8z77-v lx - what do you think? .

In relation to a graphic card i was planning on getting one later or if you recommend a suitable one , might consider.

    Sure

    This Coolermaster 500W

    or

    This BeQuiet 530w unit.

The coolermaster is slightly less powerful (but still fine for your needs) but is modular, which means you only need to connect the cables you need, helping you create a tidier build.

I'd say changing the motherboar to a Z77 model would be a good idea, and the one you have chosen looks fine.

Would opt for a little more than 500w if there is a dedicated GPU going to be installed in the near future..That said my corsair 520w has been sufficient and lasted me a while, even on my current 2500k/gtx 570.

Yeah, Bit Techs full system power draw with a GTX 670 was only 373W. The days of having to have 600W+ PSUs for single card setups are over.

That said, you could opt for this 600W Corsair for slightly more cash.

What would be your budget for a GPU?

Aria have an open box 1GB 460 GTX for £83.99

Is it possible to live without a graphic card or is a card solely dedicated to game playing?

Yes, you can use the graphics card built into the CPU which will be fine for everything except gaming. For that you'll need a separate GPU.

There's more than an outside chance that the GA-Z68AP-D3 mobo will need a BIOS flash to support the Ivy Bridge 3570K. Gigabyte say that BIOS F8 with version 1.0 of the board is ok but it is not always the case that mobos in suppliers' stock are up to date. The revision 2.0 of the board also may need a BIOS flash to BIOS FD.
The Asus P8Z77-V LX is a reasonably priced alternative.
The Radeon HD7770 graphics card is, imho, a better option than the NVidia 460GTX.

ever take a look at an amd A8 or A10 based build?? those have more than enough power for surfing and all and the extra graphics horse power would help with the games in the future!
