Im trying to make a silent pc for my dad so he can record music with the thing in the same room.

What are some things that I can put in that will keep the sound down?

    #1 noise makers

    CPUfan (bizzzzzz)- (Duron 800)
    Powersupply - (low hummmmm)
    harddrive- (whineee- crackel crackel)
    CDR drive- (miniture typhoon)

Well there are different steps to computer soundproofing, the first and easiest being soundproofing mats. There are entire companies devoted to silent PC products, but it looks like you already have all of the parts? If not, here is a fanless psu you could use. As far as the cpu fan goes, you can either replace the fan, or replace the whole hsf. What kind of hsf is it? For the hard drive, you could try something like this to mount the hard drive. One option for the cpu would be to get a good heatsink, and do away with the fan. Here is a good heatsink that doesnt use a fan, although it won't work with your Duron 800. Still, you can look for a fanless heatsink that does. Other options are things like this silent 80mm Vantec fan. I believe Bit even reviewed this a bit ago, and found it to be a good fan. For the CD-ROM drive I don't know what to tell you, other than to put the sound dampening material around it, and see if you can't reduce the vibration (that's what makes a majority of the noise). Good luck whatever you do, hope you find a good solution(s).

for the cdrom you could find a lower speed one, i've found that the higher speed cdroms create more noise cause of the faster spinning
